Turner Motorsport S65 Carbon Fiber Intake

Anyone have any feedback on this intake setup? Just stumbled across it for the first time.

The intake is fine, we've installed a few. There's only so much you can do to an intake elbow...it's pretty much like all the others.

Their Plenum on the other hand is hideous.

Is it accurate that this intake does not utilize the stock airbox? Instead it has a heat shield that utilizes the hood to seal off the intake (I remember having a similar intake on my first E46 - the brand name escapes me at the moment). Does this make the induction noise any louder? That is all I am looking for. Not expecting any real performance gains.

It also looks like it might not use the front snorkel, leaving more room for the elbow.

removing the lid from your OEM airbox will make it induction louder, you can test it for your self easily. as well as removing the cowl filters.

Bump, this has caught my eye as well. Curious if this will increase the sound for those of us with carbon plenums already.

Resurrecting this thread now that they broke this intake out separately from the plenum. Has anyone bought one? any feedback. I've run this style of intake on other BMWs (6 cyl) and had good results, but the S65 is a very specific motor.

Yes it does, I've had this intake installed for about 7 months now and have no regrets. Filter does get pretty dirty tho, so I've had to clean it once or twice already.

was the induction noise significantly louder? also do you have a cf plenum, if so, was this turner intake louder than when you added the cf plenum

Over stock, yeah it is. I don’t have a cf plenum, (order and waiting)

There’s a big sale on the Turner CF Plenum and am wondering if you ordered it as well? I’m really contemplating buying it given the low price but a lot of people have only said mediocre things about the Turner setup due to looks alone. If you could update us on how it sounds/performs that would be appreciated!
