Also another question regarding the 540. I would say after driving my 535, that it was pretty easy to slide around in it(it would throw ass pretty nice) if I wanted to. Is that the same for the 540? I don’t plan on like drifting it or anything just curious

Ask the dealer for the actual service history. Any dealer can pull it. Any time a dealer won’t give me that, I get really suspicious.

I think if you turn off the traction control, it would be easy to do. Especially with RWD

Adjust the seat bolsters. You'll need the comfort seats for that. I have mine set to automatically "tighten-up" in sport mode.

Haha I meant slide around as in making the car slide. But thanks for the heads up, I didn’t know you could do that

I have mine tightened up all the time now. I also started defaulting to sport mode. It didn’t make me jaded to it, like I feared. Just makes me enjoy the car more.

Thank you! Paint is Carbon black metallic with black interior. Packages are Msport, premium, and shadow line. Has everything I really wanted. Heated steering wheel and ventilated seats would’ve been a plus but I don’t mind not having them.

I owned a 2011 535 and moved to a new 2015 528 that I kept for less than 2 years because I hated how it felt so underpowered (never mind the engine sound!

I moved into a 2017 540 demo and then my current 2021 540 with M sport package (best 5 I've owned) (34K miles)

Sold it to a friend for the TI value plus s/t differential of 37,720.

I'm picking up a new M440 next week and would not have even considered the 430 given my experience with the 528.

Thanks to lots of information on bimmerpost and YouTube , I cleaned up (and practiced techniques) my 540 last week. Clay bar cloth, Chemical guys car soap and washing mitts, Reload ceramic spray (I'll never use wax again)



Pretty happy with the result and can't wait for my M440 with the B58 engine to arrive!

2021, I believe it was about 22k miles. It has Msport, premium package, and shadow line. It’s carbon black metallic and has the nice perforated seats as well. It was just a bit north of 35k

Those seats could be ventilated, mine are and you most likely have seat bolsters. Ventilated is next heated under the radio if you do...

You're going to love the owner experience of the 540. It is the perfect balance between performance and economy, with the silky smooth straight 6 providing the low-end torque I just don't find in the 8 cylinder 550. The 530 is just not quite the same experience when you press hard on the accelerator... you'll get there, just not as smoothly or quickly.

I'm approaching 80k on my 2018 540i xdrive and don't see any car on the market right now -- from any manufacturer -- I'd want to trade it in for! Enjoy!!

You don’t find low end torque in the M550?
