Hi, i got a 2020 g30 and it has the led headlight, i dont like the look of them so i want to upgrade to icon ones, but on my current headlight the inner lenses are black, would the icon headlights still work?

I'm pretty sure that you would have to upgrade the entire headlight assemblies. Be sure to bring lots of money for that!

2020 is pre LCI, so there's no OEM Laser light option. They didn't start those until 2021 with the LCI facelift

There are laser "style" lights that would fit your car, but if you have the adaptive ICON lights right now, these would probably be a downgrade. You can find them on Aliexpress/Alibaba cheaper but take more of a gamble on whether you get an issue free set/return policies

Your previous statement was that there were no pre-LCI laser headlights, which I proved wrong.

But not only were you wrong before, but you are still wrong as there were pre-LCI G30s with factory (i.e. not retrofitted) lasers in Canada and the EU:

In particular, Canada had them in 2020 as an option:

You simply can't admit you are wrong? The OP asked if he can upgrade to the laser headlights. He can...they were offered on pre-LCI cars in 2020 in markets outside the USA. BMW even offers a retrofit kit for anyone with a pre LCI car that wishes to fit them, that did not get them from the factory.

I have no issue saying I was wrong about lasers not existing for pre LCI. the actual issue with yall screaming about this is context. we all know what he meant when he said laser, and it wasn't a blue accent on non laser ICON lights. so yes, obscure retrofit option existed, but it's probably not even remotely close to what he was talking about. typical strawman

No one quoted anything the OP said. What people had an issue with was you stating there was no OEM Laser light option for the Pre LCI G30.

The OP isn’t asking about laser lights, he’s asking about icon led’s which were available as an option.

Although having just read the whole thread the OP seems to have originally asked if a laser light option is available for pre lci…which it is now, irrespective of whether or not it was an option in the US in 2020

The part number for the retrofit kit is 63135A07801
It appears BMW may have discontinued it. Some dealers say NLA, others say "out of stock" but can be ordered and delivered in three weeks from BMW.
