Hey so I Just picked up a MHD tune today Stage 1 for the b58 540i and I was really impressed by the gains. I love the tune but the only problem I have right now is the engine oil error I'm getting. It says "Unable to determine status" for the engine oil change interval and I can't seem to clear the code or reset the interval. It's really annoying that I see that every time I start up the car and the icon on the cluster. Is there any way to code it out or fix this issue without taking it to the dealership because my car is out of warranty hence why I tuned it.

I had the same issue with Bootmod3. I was able to contact the developers and they were able to fix the problem via enet cable and WiFi.

Maybe MHD can help in the same way.

Yea same here -- Had that issue when I flashed BM3 and their support team advised to use the 'Download tune and flash later' option instead of just flash now.

That resolved the issue.

If MHD has that option, trying going that route, if not, reach out to MHD support, i'm sure there's a fix for it.

Yea I contacted MHD they sent me a updated file with a fix and refreshed it and its now gone. It was actually getting annoying I hate seeing lights on my dash lol.

Sorry to bring up an old thread - Have the tuning companies now added this fix to their latest releases?

I'm looking to change my tune to either BM3 or MG Flasher. Currently I'm on an Evolve Stage 2 tune but with wanting to go Stg2+ soon, I thought it would be a good time to change and manage the tuning myself.

I'm still debating whether to go BM3 or MG Flasher - any advice or opinion is appreciated

I have BM3, whenever I flash, I always do Download now, flash later option and then once completed, I go to the downloaded tab, and flash it.

BM3 for me - Biased.

I started using BM3 and did the download and flash later option without issues. Flashed with my iPad Pro with USB C Ethernet adapter and ENET cable.

Hi, can I continue driving after this problem occurs? This problem occurred after I completed stage 1 of the BM3 OTS map today, which obviously scared me. I have sent an email to BM3 but have not yet received a reply.

Yea, you should be good to keep driving. It seems to be more of a coding issue on PTF’s part, not a mechanical issue. I had the same issue after tuning my car with a MPPK map on bm3. PTF will get it figured out for you.
