I'm rocking Bowers&Wilkins speakers in front doors from AliEx for year and a half and they're still going strong, much better sound then original HiFi. I just upgraded my subs for Audisons and that made another step.
Next step will be Audison center and Audison amp

The speaker grills with the ambient lighting is a beautiful touch. The most annoying part is avoiding to break any clips from the doors. I bought a bunch of clips so I was able to replace anything that I broke. All good.

Gents, anyone have a real life frequency response comparison HiFi vs HK vs BW for the door mids and underseats?

I found out a parameter which able to code the EQ curve based on what model of bmw you are in, (target is to adjust soundstage and focus based on own liking, I remember there are a topic in Bimmerpost on the F45 coding about similar eq curve and it works.) . But after several trials I not able to notice any different.

Does it need any other coding to make it work? I might be wrong. Just see and check if anyone encountered this before.

Hey norris I had the base hifi system in my car, I upgraded all the speakers including woofers with the exact same BW speakers you'd gotten.
I haven't really noticed any difference, could that be because I'm in the hifi amp the car came with?
OR
Do the speakers take a few hours of playing to settle in and sound good? (That's what bavsound said about their speakers in a video)

AMP makes all the difference. Swapping speakers without an amp or DSP upgrade is a waste of time.

You will need to replace your amp. Bimmertech has nice amps.

Just did the upgrade on my g30 540i that came with the HK system. Huge improvement, bass has a kick, the sound is clearer, and does not get distorted/muddy at higher volume like with the HK system. Very satisfied with the speakers and the ambient lighting is a nice touch. I also went ahead and replaced my wood trim while I was in there.

Side note I had the car coded for the BW eq settings prior to installing the speakers. Not sure if it’s needed, but it did improve the HK sound so I left it.
