Is the b58 truly a good engine?

I bought my CPO b58 with 32k miles. Just hit 58k miles. I drive 4-500 miles a month. Never drive hard. Car only has a jb+. No other mods.

Around 50k miles I received a low oil alert, added a QT brought the car to bmw and they warranted the oil pan

Just hit 58k miles and today I get another low oil alert, added another QT. Bringing car to bmw in a week.

If I have another oil leak I will lose it.

If you search around here you'll see your problem is not common. Some B58 revisions have a potentially catastrophic oil pump problem (the engine-killing kind) but outside of that, it's one of the best engines BMW has ever produced.

There's a reason Toyota uses it in the new Supra...

Mostly the '19 X5 40is have the oil pump that needs to be replaced. Can happen in the G30 though, but rare.

I don't understand why they replaced the oil pan? Maybe the OP can fill us in.

the metal bits that go bang bang bang are good.

the rest are classic BMW products - the higher the first number of the model line up, the more dodgy after the warranty is up
