Maybe I'll add that before they do away with it.
No tranny or coolant services listed on there (you can check out the list on your dealer's website). Tranny is not expected as BMW considers it a lifetime fill. I suppose coolant is also not expected since BMW changes/flushes it only during related repairs is what I have heard.

The G31’s booked into the body shop for Tuesday 9th April, will drop it off on the Monday afternoon & will have it back by the weekend.

Haven’t had a delivery date on the new brakes yet but with my recent experience of ordering car parts on line that come from Germany I suspect I’ll be having a long wait…Bloody Europeans Grrr

Thanks, I asked her after I asked you and she said the same thing. The odd thing is that I could swear I saw it listed on the 60,000 mile service interval as a to-do.

I haven't but I will check them out. More for my E39 though. I've always been happy with my dealer for service and they are very competitive. I also have Route 66, so I don't really care about costs for warranty work. The loaner is a deal breaker for me. I can't be bothered dropping off and getting rides to and from. Even if indies have loaners, it is like one car you have to compete for. My indie said they will not give me a loaner if they have to deal with aftermarket insurance companies to file a claim and get paid as it adds to time the loaner is out to me. I found this stance as a turn off.

Received email regarding the new brakes today…why am I not surprised, just as well I’m in no hurry. They take the money quickly enough…bunch of knob jockeys.

Dear customer,
We are to inform you that your order is still processing.
Unfortunately, the processing times didn't meet our expectations, which leads to the fact that the delivery might not take place within the estimated times.

That's a convoluted bit of language there. Can't they write in plain language?

It was an automated email, probably generated by AI Most likely happens a lot.

Back in the nineties/noughties I’d a just called my local German car part specialist & driven over to pick them up that day or a day or two later if they didn’t have stock. Unfortunately they closed pack in 2019 & it now flats, over 40 years they had been trading

Just to close the loop on my service this week at the dealer:

Plugs
Coolant flush
Air Filters (2x)
Cabin Filter
4-Wheel Alignment
Handwash Detail by onsite detailers

$1,050. There is no way any indie can come anywhere near that using OEM parts. I also gave my SA (who is now the Servie Manager) a $170 bottle of Vino.

Insurance covered Wheel and Tire stuff:
Both front wheels straightened
Minor rash repair on one wheel

I swear it’s faster with the new plugs, but that’s probably in my head.

Ripped off the driver side (the RIGHT side ) front spoiler element today Was turning into a road that was having some resurfacing done & theyd half formed mountain of a speed hump & removed the top couple of layers of road surface which made a dip right in front of the speed hump. Front wheel went into the dip & the spoiler caught the speed hump. Not best pleased but at least it happened before having the splitter fitted. I’ll clean the surfaces up later & bond it back on with some clear silicone.

Bloody state of the roads is a joke

What are the file requirements for getting embedded jpg files to appear for MP4 files?

I have gotten all 1000+ of my MP3 files to properly show album covers but for MP4 files I can only get one or two movie posters to appear out of dozens of files. I use MP3TAG for both MP3 AND MP4. MY MP4 movie posters are all the same file size, resolution, subsampling etc l can't figure out why a couple work and most don't.

I'd been looking around for a while and could never find exactly what I wanted. So I landed on a 2017 Imperial Blue on Cognac 540i with some of the cool if not gimicky stuff but some must haves for me like adaptive Icon lights, M sport brakes, and comfort access. It's got all the parking and cruise control stuff, along with the display key for remote parking. I wanted the M sport aero but everything with it was so barebones and bland

So I ordered the M sport kit, LCI tails, carbon stuff all around and H&R springs until I can figure out which coils I want. I plan to rebuild a set of three piece wheels I have from another car to specs that fit the G30 better

What wine? We love wine (and bourbon) but have found diminishing returns above the $100 mark and really below that. But we’re open to trying good suggestions. Feel free to pm if you don’t want to share here. As for bourbon, Pappy is the real deal but Weller 12 is damn near the same at much lower cost, if you can find it. And there are other good choices not from Buffalo Trace.

My nav & XM were working fine. Just last week I noticed the Nav tile stuck at LOADING. XM channels all gone as well.

Brought the car to dealer, they tried resetting iDrive but that didn't work. They said $270 or so for diagnosis. If the system needs to be reprogram, that would be another $700. CRAZY!!! I rmb paying only $250 or so reprogramming my 535 a few years back. They even had the car for 2 days.

After searching the entire forum, I settled with Bimmer Remote service. We got on TeamViewer for maybe 30 min today. He got it all fixed for me!!!

Also added fullscreen Apple Carplay. It's nice but I think I prefer the split view better. Anyhow, waiting for my USB stick order and 2024 Map update is on the way.
