I wish there were some way for us to grab the Panama Canal webcam and do a time-lapse video like this. That way we don't have to glue ourselves to that webcam as the crossing times are not precise.

Ok, so the Panama Canal updated its sked today to show that PB is arriving 5/7 @ 1100 hrs. It also shows the Jupiter Diamond coming in on 5/8 @ 1900 hrs.

Now despite the fact that PB got out of Bremerhaven half a day before the JD and arriving at the canal 1 1/2 days before the JD, we still are scheduled 2 days later at Port Hueneme and San Diego. It looks like both ships are assigned the same berths at both ports. No offense to those on board the JD, but how messed up is that???

Could you please just go straight to Port Hueneme, none of your other stops are more important. Go as fast as you can.

I just realized that the 17th is next Saturday. That's not really that far away. But still plenty of time for the 'captain' to stop in Cabo for a few drinks and still make it to PH on time.

Edit: The current PH schedule shows May 18th arrival, not May 17th. As Nice1 said, it's too bad we arrive two days after the Jupiter Diamond. It means the VPC will be busy processing those cars first. Of course, the Pri 1 cars from both ships will be prioritized, but still...

Between the JD and PB, there are over 2400 BMWs. Looks like VPC, which processes approximately 400 cars a day, will have a busy week.

I found out yesterday I am on neither of those boats. This sucks. At least I will be able to see how your boat progresses and make a better determination of when I will get my car. I am on the "Green Dale" which I believe is somewhere in the eastern atlantic still, about a week behind you guys.

That's a little disappointing. I thought it might go through tomorrow. Any update on the panama crossing for JD? Maybe this is where our rival boat overtakes us. :-)

with the reported delays of 100+ hours at the canal, it's great that the PB got a slot the morning after its scheduled arrival.

the JD should get their schedule in a day or two. the PB transits the day JD gets there, with the JD possibly moving the next day (5/9). if San Diego or Hueneme does not change its schedule, we will probably be hanging back in San Diego for a couple of days. i sure hope they switch schedules so we can port around the 15th.
