Comments on interior color for Aventurin red G30

Hello everybody

My 1st post here and hopefully not last

I am finalizing my configuration of 540i RWD here in Europe that will definitely be aventurin red and other equipment is already set. Nothing special, it will be M sport package and some other standard extras. As a traditionalist in terms what looks luxurious and comfortable, I am going in it with alcantara headliner and at least nappa leather.

But, here things get complicated - choice of colors is actually so bad that I can't decide with what combo should I go.
I don't want black or white interior so I am left with:
1. nappa mokka
2. merino caramel
3. merino tartufo

I saw aventurin red with nappa mokka here:
https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1948377
- and it's great, very classy and elegant

I saw aventurin red with merino caramel here:
https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1915179
- also great, light and open, maybe to sensitive for long-term maintenance

Aventurin red with merino tartufo I can't see anywhere
- with tartufo my concern is that it looks amazing on cloudy photos, but on sunny ones, it looks too orange for me - and is maybe too close with outside color?

I would opt for mokka if it would be merino and would have leather on lower part of the dash (stiching is so sexy), but this is not the case.
I am afraid of caramel that could be too light, and tartufo too strong.
Let's put quality of leather (merino slightly above nappa) aside, also stiching aside. Only in terms of color combination, with what you would go for?

BTW, I was thinking a bit of Arctic race blue + mokka or tartufo as it could be ok, but no any photo on the internet of G30 in that color as it is newly put in pallete of colors this summer...

I will own the car for sure 5-10 years, so I really want to choose best. I will appreciate the comments!

Thanks and best regards from Croatia

I would go with mocha. IMHO, it looks classy.

It is sportier but still very elegant for a blue color. Looks amazing on catalogue photos of 4 Series. Phytonic is sporty blue color
My target is although elegant look, so aventurin wins here.

Yeah, mocha (some write mokka?) is classy and more secure choice.

Here, combination AR + tartufo: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CViJT...dium=copy_link
Not perfect. Too much of terracota look and too similar outside/inside, right?
In any case, for a coupe/cabrio better than for limousine.

Hello again,

Regardless it will be needed more care for long-term cleanliness, I ordered merino caramel on my aventurin red G30.
I saw one car here in merino leather and this stiching, it is another level of experience.
I ordered fineline cove trim in it, thinking it will be elegant and decent and more resistant to dust, prints and scratches than fineline ridge, which can look maybe more luxurios. I can change that next 1-2 months so still brainstorming about trim.
But, there again option is also poplar grain grey and ash trunk open-pore. I don't want piano black although on photo looks good.

So, what would you choose on this interior and why?
1. fineline cove
2. fineline ridge
3. poplar grain grey
4. ash trunk open-pore

*headliner will be in alcantara

Difficult to find trims on caramel as it is rare, here are 3 photos with fineline cove:

Good choice to go for the merino leather! Not only the lower part of the dash is in leather, the backside of the front seats is leather and all of the centerconsole is also in leather (which it isn't with nappa). On top of that the wonderful stitching on the dash and upper part of the doors makes it almost Bentley feeling.
I chose Caramel myself (but with a green exterior) and after 1,5 year with the car I still love the color. With the tartufo I didn't liked the white piping on the seats which in my opinion does not look as clean as the caramel.

Found it hard to choose the interiortrim so went crazy and ordered the dark carbon from the M5 by Bmw individual manufaktur. About 1100 euro extra.
If you go for the merino leather I can recommend you to order floor mats with color matched binding.

Thank for the comment.

I would also consider green exterior if it is available today, but this would be special request because in Individual programme for standard individual price are only alvit, tanzanit and aventurin possible. Green (british racing/malachit/any other?) would be great also, but aventurin is my desire for a long time.

Yeah, beside more leather, stiching is amazing in merino set, so at the end it was no doubt for it. But on the other hand, I am not a fan with color matched binding on floor mats so I will pass them black Also have a fear that white stiching on tartufo can look dirty with time :|

Your trim is choice to take it in consideration, but in that area also these are available:

Also interesting solutions for caramel, maybe more points to dark option because it is without gloss.

One more comparison between ash trunk grey and fineline cove in caramel combination, these are of course cheaper solutions than ordering any of individual trim. I am surprised how clean and elegant looks ash trunk grey. Really getting headache.

I vote for caramel -- very classy. I have tartufo in my M3 and I think it is difficult to photograph accurately. To my eye, it does not have have any orange. I would describe it as a medium brown with a hint of red.

All three are wonderful combinations.

Here are some tartufo photos from my M3 (with Portimao Blue paint) and it looks rather orange to me, but again, I think it is difficult to photograph accurately.

Tartufo is spiritual successor of cinammon brown and it is funny, I have E46 M3 in combination of yours new M3 - mystic blue outside, cinammon inside, and it is very unique and interesting mix.

Yeah, caramel will be final choice, there is no doubt. Tartufo would be good if I chose phytonic blue/tanzanit blue/alvit grey etc outside, but there is too much red touch in tartufo for aventurin red outside.

Interesting you have a trim on your car that I put up there as individual trim, black with grey lines (don't know the name), also good choice

Thread semi-hijack: I'm a little confused about Aventurine Red metallic on 5er cars in the USA. The configurator at BMW USA and the USA pricing guide show Aventurine Red as a $650 metallic paint, yet the color is BMW Individual at a hefty price elsewhere in the BMW line. Are American G30 buyers getting Aventurine that cheaply? TIA!

And the plot thickens, as the USA pricing guide for the G30 M550ix lists Aventurine as a $1,950 Individual option. Makes no sense.

I got Aventurine Red III as a no cost option on my 545e. Now that was back in May 21 when I was ordering but I'm sure that has changed since.

Now I am doubly jealous of you You have the 5er I would like -- the 545e -- the USA gets only the 530e with 4-banger -- AND Aventurine Red (at no cost!) Enjoy!

Don't worry the i5 is coming out in 23 and I'm sure the States will be getting that. I have my name down with my dealer for that one. Until then have fun in your half a car.🤣🤣🤣

Interesting, because german configurator of G30 also makes no additional payment for aventurin - it is same price like any other metallic color.
I concluded it is a failure, because all other european configurators clearly equals aventurin with tanzanit and alvit in terms of surcharge.

This discussion also raises the age-old question of "Why can't American BMW buyers get some of the nice options available elsewhere?" The full Merino leathers were available in the USA on the M550ix several years ago but have now disappeared. I know they are expensive -- here BMW! Take my money!

I have not yet checked with the dealer to see if full Merino is an unpublicized option. But Aventurine Red with Caramel Merino is just sweet!

Yeah, this moment with merino leather is wierd, why it wouldn't be available everywhere under same conditions.

In meantime, aventurin red really got cheaper with surcharge like all other metallic colors, also in other markets obviously.

Yes, order went out in last days of September. Few days ago I got information that production will be in January 2023, happy me because it will be last year of production cycle. About 1 month after production, delivery is planned.

Beside aventurin red out and caramel inside, rest of options is as follows:

I will use this set of 18" for winter set, and look to buy some 19" for summer set. Only option was Styling 845 which were ugly to me. Only 19" that is not ugly is S664 which was available before facelift. I would like to have 20" S636 which look the best (old school), but in my area roads are relatively poor, so the best option would be even to stay with 18s

If budget was not limited, I would probably add some extra toy to this list, but this also will be amazing car, especially in Croatia where most of G30s are 520d/530d in silver and black with black interior.
