Sales Slow?

Was at Roseville BMW they have a Black M4 and an Arctic White M3. The M3 has been on the lot for three days. Both cars were not pre sold. The salesman told me the 2 235i cars sold in 10 hours. 80 2015 M3/M4 on cars.com right now. Makes me think the demand is soft for the launch.

Did you ask them how much they want for the cars? I guarantee to you they want over MSRP and they'll also charge markup for money factors. Ask them to give the cars below MSRP and I'm sure they'll be gone in a day or so

No mark up. Auto Nation doesn't mark up the car.

Hmmm, sub-MSRP prices could be on the horizon.

Could it be that they're just a dealership with lower sales volume? Maybe it's not a great M market in Roseville, CA. How many M3/4s are they allocated?

It's EXACTLY that! A low volume dealership.

Hmmm, a '13 M3 ZCP owner with 7 posts comes in and starts saying new M3 sales are slow.

What's with all the trolls today?

Which means what? if the car were in high demand all that Bay Area money would snap the cars up. There is also a M3 at Niello BMW (Mineral white). I would think you SoCal buyers would snatch them up and and knock out 450 miles driving them home.

There's a BMW dealer on every corner here. No need to venture anywhere else.

For those who have not yet placed their orders, and are considering placing one now and not waiting another model year, I would highly recommend waiting 2-3 months to see if the market is in fact soft for these cars. No way to tell based on these anecdotes, however, but I get the same feeling.

That's just it.....

...the "market" is not a static climate. The market in Roseville, for example, will NEVER be the market in the greater Los Angeles area.

A M4 sold in a few hours of arriving at a local dealer here in the Midwest. My dealer's next available allocation is September and they're a large volume dealer.

OMG! Do you think it's because it's not nearly as good as a '13 DCT ZCP E92?

Given the reviews it's getting and, for this crowd, the early dyno results, I'm fairly glad I placed my order before all those reviews came out.

It's going to be a hot car for quite awhile.

That's an ad hominem response. The question is whether sales are slow. If the guy was a communistic Wiccan foot fetishist it would not alter whether or not sales are slow.

Wow, three whole days? It sounds like a sales disaster, this one. My God, imagine what'll happen if we get to a week or even two? I think the company may fold.

So what you're telling me is that a $55k car sold faster than a $80k car? Intriguing situation. It almost leads me to believe that there are more shoppers for the lower priced vehicle, but surely that's a ridiculous notion.

Did you search cars.com for the M235i? I did, and there are 96. What I expect is for BMW to announce tomorrow that that car is being pulled from the market for poor sales.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I notice it's raining outside so I have to go build an ark. Does anyone have a male and female marmoset I can borrow?
