Curious what the buzzing / pump like noise is when key is inserted into ignition

I have noticed the following:

a) Vehicle is off, alarm on
b) Alarm turned off via FOB
c) Door open, insert key into ignition (but dont start car)

d) At this point the car emits a buzzing like noise for a couple of seconds. It sounds almost as tho the fuel system is being primed.

It doesn't sound bad or anything, just curious what is taking place at this time. The sound does remind me of some sort of priming process.

Its not the head lights leveling btw, happens weather the lights are on 0 or not.

Also this happens before the car is started / start button is pressed.

Anyone know what the buzzing is?

i was told by the dealer that it is the brake booster to re-pressure brake fluids.

you will also hear pump noises after you turn off and lock the car after a drive. i believe it is emissions components.

I could be wrong but I think it is the fuel pump.

For me I usually hear the DVD(08s with navi only) seeking and spinning up after just unlocking the car and opening the door and nothing else. I don't believe I hear anything else unless I push the button to put the ignition on or start it (Comfort Accesss). Will listen again next time I get into the car.

There's a lot of sensors on this car but the sound is most likely the fuel pump priming. Without that noise the car won't start.
