M-School August 9-10 roll call?
Anyone going to the two-day M-School this coming week-end? It's a CCA members only school that I booked way back in February. So the least I can say is that excitation has been building up for the past 6 months.
Hopefully the F8x M are ready to go. |

Have fun! I did the BMWCCA two-day school last summer. It is very well done... And bring some dramamine to take each morning. Several members of my class got sick/queasy...

BTW, did you bring your how camera (GoPro type) or did you just rely on the RaceKeeper system that they have. I'm tempted to bring my own, but don't want to break the flow of the course. |

I don't get car sick either but wasn't going to chance it so I took the dramamine. And I ended up handing out tablets to three or four classmates... The course is not all flat and between the ups and downs of the course and really tossing the car into some tight turns, some people are affected.
There is plenty of water provided at the track but when I went it was cloudy with some light rain so the heat was never a real issue. Actually having some track time in the wet was a great experience and a lot of fun. As for video, I relied on the RaceKeeper system but a couple of guys had their GoPro's... The RaceKeeper system is pretty good but the GoPro would have been nice to have.

OK, how was it? I just got my BMWCCA email and they mentioned the member only M school... You weren't the guy who ran the M5 into the grass were you?

School was awesome. Very well structured, ran smoothly, excellent instruction. I mean the whole thing has been discussed in length on this forum, so not a lot to add. It's well worth doing it. On the CCA website they published the wrong pictures (it only shows E92s), but we actually used the new F80 M3. I posted about it in this thread :http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1010431 The new M3 are pretty awesome. There is a little bit of adjustment coming from an 6MT E92, but the car is as raw as it can be. Even though it's only a 100lbs difference it feels a lot lighter (in a good way) and tighter than the E92. Power is immediately available even down low. I kept the steering in Sport most of the time and I really liked it. The F80 Sport mode for steering feels a little lighter than the same setting on the E92, but the feedback is there and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between electrical and hydraulic power steering, at least I wasn't. The seats are very good and the monopiece design didn't affect the use of an helmet, as I had initially feared. Overall they are great cars and even the instructors seemed to really enjoy them as it was their first time putting them to the test during some hot laps. |

Nice!! Had not been over to the F80 board in a while so missed your update. Glad to hear you enjoyed the new M3!
The email I received from BMWCCA also used old photos of the E92 M3 while text discussed the new M3. I'll have to email Jackie and bust her chops over the mix up. The email also named the attendees, including the guy who went off track. Have to admit I was a little surprised to see that. I guessed M5 because all the email said he "helped the grounds crew keep the grass neat around the track with his 575HP “lawnmower” and received some good-natured ribbing about his efforts."
