Talking milestone

Today I hit a milestone. My car hit 50,000km

I purchased my beloved M3 on October 12, 2011 and have been in ever since.

I have owned too many BMW's to count (sick I know). I can say without a doubt that this car is the best! There is enough room to throw in skis, take 3 friends for dinner or rip around a race track. What a well rounded machine.

At this moment I do not plan on changing cars anytime soon!

Here's to another 50,000 trouble free km

Or 31,068.6 miles... You need 80467.2 km for 50,000 miles!!

Blah, my comment means nothing really. Keep on enjoying the car

Two thoughts:
1. Interesting that it is still referred to as a milestone - even when the milestone itself is registered in km. Interesting.

2. In the spirit of @happos2 's comment, you have only gone 8,999.3 leagues. You need another 227,800 km to get to 50,000 leagues. i would be impressed. I am rooting for you.
2a. On the other hand, you have already covered 109,361,330 cubits, so... there is that...

You're right. Is the proper term "kilostone" ?

In my case the meaning of the word "milestone" means...

a significant event. Often a milestone marks the start of a new chapter.

Oh man, this makes things so complicated. What if your significant event was weigh-related - say, making it to 168lbs - or exactly 12 stone. Would that be a "stonestone"?

PS: I hope you do not hit a stone in your M3 (keeping it OT all the way)

In Canada they're called kilometre markers.

A milestone can only be measured in miles and like many things were invented by the Romans ( but probably patented by Apple Inc. )

Congrats on hitting it whatever it is. I always seem to miss the nice round numbers. :-/
