Last Service Prior to Warranty Expiration

"Service Required" popped up on my iDrive, so called and scheduled service with my SA. My vehicle is 2011 with DCT. iDrive indicated that an oil change was due, and my warranty expires in September. Met with SA who ran the needed service items through his computer, the following came up:

1. Oil Change
2. Replace Spark Plugs
3. Replace Differential Oil
4. Standard Scope

I was surprised, as I was under the impression that the Diff was lifetime, or am I confusing that with the DCT? In any event, I am glad to have these items taken care of prior to Warranty expiration, and will be shopping extended warranties in the very near future. This car is a keeper and has only 14740 miles on the clock.

The DCT is meant to be life time but seems some folks change it even without the leakage (did you ask then to check this btw?).
The diff oil is changed after break in 1200miles, mine hasn't been changed since (at 17k miles now).

Cheers

I got my dct and diff fluid changed. Just told them I heard a thunk thunk thunk noise on sharp turns. There is service bulletin for this. So got a free fluid change. No more thunk thunk thunk ;-)

Thanks for the positive replies! Here's the rest of the story, the SA calls me last night and said he erred; the plugs and diff oil change were not ordered - AFTER I saw the print out from him detailing these items!!! i call bullshit, but then again, do I want someone messing with my plugs and diff oil?

hmm may be why they changed my diff fluid at around the 15k oil change. i had the metallic click click noise thingy going around and it seems to have fixed it.

I believe diff fluid is every 30k miles. What do you mean by someone messing with your diff fluid and plugs? Are you saying the dealership will screw those things up? Personally I don't really trust the dealership to do jack but as far as difficulty is concerned those two services are super easy. You should definitely get them to do while it's still free

Diff fluid is at the 1200 mile service and then every third oil change thereafter (so about 45K miles based on BMW's interval), and yes you should get it changed. It's easy too, so I wouldn't worry about a shop doing it. There's a DIY on here somewhere if you want to see what it entails.
