I'm just happy that the new Dodge Charger Pursuit Police Cars in America won't have the Hellcat engine.

Not just that but its easily been posting 11's we have to do bms, DPs, to do mid to low 11's in the m5.

I'd trade the m4 in for one right now if it could be easily had and for MSRP 60k is just too cheap lol

For 60K it would be a fun toy!
Interior looks like crap.
Despite the numbers I couldn't seriously consider this a replacement for the M5.

I'd get it and put 10-20k miles and it would still probably sell for only a 5-10k loss seeing as how these probably won't go for under MSRP.

Looks like cheap fun

Not that you will know of Dave. My Masonic brother is a sergeant w Dps and the the chargers they use now go 165. I will find out when he returns from these Tx border disputes if they will get a few. My guess is yes based on my own experience.

Good for Dodge! Competition improves the breed and this is going to be noticed by the Germans.

Actually the new Dodge Charger Pursuit models are going to come with a 370hp version of the Hemi. They look badass and menacing. They are really heavy though as all the doors on the new model will have ballistic armor plating on them as well as a bunch of other stuff. I expect their weight to exceed 5,000lbs.

"I'm just not so sure about the F80 M3/F82 M4. They don't have front seat thigh extenders"

^^ This and also they have 10-way adjustment instead of 20-way adjustment

M5/M6: 20-way power front M Multi-contour seats with 4-way lumbar support, articulated upper backrest, adjustable thigh support, passenger's-seat memory, and Active Head Restraints with adjustable side bolsters.

M3/M4:10-way power front M sport seats with single-piece back panel, 4-way lumbar support, power-adjustable side bolsters

Sorry for lol

They get a little testy over there on the M3 Forum. I think it's great that Chrysler is pushing the envelope. They have upped the ante and other car manufacturers will respond. It's good for all of us.

Precisely. Pierce through the myopia to appreciate a car that is avant garde. Understandably this is a BMW forum which ferments natural situations for groupthink and biases , but the general lack of independent free thinking (eg. nothing is better than my M3/M5) during discussions like this is both frustrating and comical.

The HellCat is good for all of us; competition (from a general economic sense, not an M5 sense ) creates a better product for a cheaper price. Every few years, a new car supersedes current benchmarks and forces both direct and indirect competitors to catch-up, innovate, and leapfrog. Recent examples, the 2nd Gen CTS-V, R35 GTR, and McLaren 12C , all forced BMW, Porsche, and Ferrari to change their paradigms and create new and improved products. I'm really excited to see how far the HP wars will go, and what subsequent products will emerge.

BTW, I had an SRT vehicle, and the fit, form, finish, and functionality is inferior to Teutonic products. But IMO there is no better value than an SRT vehicle, and THAT is the reason I believe many people are upset --> a 60k car that is comparable to lots of six-figure cars in some basic but important performance categories has a tendency to irk those people paying uber dollars for high-end cars.

This post puts you on the few people I respect on this forum. I can count less than 10 of those.
