Red face Finding myself

hello, i'm new here.
I registered on bimmerfest too, but that forum is… hmm. This forum seems nicer.

Currently I drive an Infiniti G. Do not abuse me for this.

For a long time I have been wary of BMW's reputation. I also think all of the cars look the same.
But then I started looking at M's, you know, it takes awhile for a noobie to explore the multitude of BMW models and editions.

The M6 is very nice, but… probably not practical.
The M5 is not right for me.
What I am really looking for is a perfect car for my city, with, you know, enough fun for me. The holy grail of car.
So I found the E92 M3… oh, god. Somehow, I am now addicted to it. The 2011.

Now I am getting an M3. I think I would like it in Space Grey… I don't know what's with the two-tone red interiors. Maybe that understanding comes later.

No, no, no… do not worry, I'm ready... I am a stock driver… so the M3 appeals to me. (I'd change the wheels.)

The engine, my god. When can I drive this car? When can I feel it? My G is no longer a vehicle for myself, it is only a number… of insignificant trade-in value.

Is this how it always starts? Is there any hope?

I had a IPL G37 for a short time. The car was practical and sporty but wasn't for me. The E9x M3 will be a performance jump for you. Good luck with the search!

Best of luck in your search. I'm curious though why you feel an M6 is impractical but an e90 not?

OP, that's kinda how it started for most of us.

It's an "M" disease and it only gets worse. Just ask my Wife and Teenagers....

Good Luck!

My BMW addiction started with this car also. Bought it new, I flung it around for 80,000 miles with zero issues and a smile pasted on my face the whole way! Made me know I had to have the E92 M3 and it has proven to be everything I had hoped for. Have owned Boxster, 911s, Acura Legend Coupe and vintage iron (Olds 442's) and none have been more fun than the M. Well ok maybe the Boxster, but only on the twisties. Never had enough straight line HP for my taste. M3 cured that Bang for the buck is impossible to beat. Go find your car- you will never look back except to realize how far you've come.

True story: I was on my way to buy a new G37 and made a comment (wife was with me) about how I didn't like spending that kind of $ on a great car but one that I didn't "love". We already had a 3 series and I was being a dork about not having two BMW's at the same time so I had been test driving Mercs, Audi's, Infiniti's. She encouraged me to pull into the BMW dealership just to see what they had (we are long BMW owners).

As fate would have it, there were two used M3's right at the front door. Needless to say, I never made it to my appointment at the Infiniti dealer!

For me, it has truly been the "holy grail of a car." I have driven it every day for almost three years and I still grin every time I see it, sit in it, start it, accelerate, brake, turn, crank up the stereo, geek out on any number of uber cool features, wash it, modify it, etc.

And finally...there is no such thing as an M disease. But there is such thing as ///M enlightenment!

My addiction started as soon as my brother-in-law let me take his 335i for a drive one day. It was all over after that. I was going to go with a car very similar to his but I figured if I was going to do it I may as well go balls out and get the one I've always admired. M3!!!

Always wondered about the day-to-day experience of a female M3 driver. I know the car is a total dick magnet as it is, encounters with mouth-breathers with too many stupid questions being a daily occurrence, must be 10x worse for a girl!
