Full Dinan or MPE with Test Pipes
Hello Everyone,
First want to say thanks for all of the useful info on here from anyone. The DIY section has been very helpful (oil changes, rear diff fluid change, spark plug, lux lights, and various exterior cosmetic changes) I would make an introduction and post a pic of the car but haven't figured that out. Anyways I am trying to decide on my exhaust for my car. Yes i have searched and i have not found anything comparing these two set ups. I am wondering if anyone has heard both of these set ups and can tell me which is louder ? My car is a daily driver E93. So no drone and not something that is outrageous. Options I am considering are: 1) Full Dinan - could also be a different x pipe 2) Dinan Rear with test pipes 3) MPE with test pipes 4) MPE rear only 5) Dinan rear only Thanks for any input |

Full Dinan. I think the Dinan xpipe is one of the best out there

I say go for the MPE and TP if you really have to mod it. Remember these cars are developed based on race cars. The exhaust note that we as consumers are used to are tuned so they can be driven on the road.
The true characteristic of a m3 is rasp but if your car is a daily, just get a rear muffler. |

Full Dinan gets my vote. Just remember, no cats equal smell. Now you'll get used to it but with the top down it will still be noticeable..........Phil

Subscribed. I'm in the same boat. Right now I have Akrapovic with test pipes and looking for something different.
I was considering Dinan or MPE as well but since I already have the test pipes I'm looking for a rear section to pair it with rather than swapping the whole x-pipe. Any suggestion on which pairs better with the test pipes?

As someone who has had both full dinan and MPE with test pipes. MPE with test pipes was, along with my IPE/Gintani x pipe, the single most 'exotic' sounding set up I had. NOTHING sounds like it at all abd it sounds phenomenal.
Full dinan is nice, but has nothing on MPE/test pipes. |

What he said. This is a known issue and seems to be common across all environments, uses, and setups. MPE is a total gamble.

- low growl at idle - banshee loud at WOT - no drone at cruising speed - slight resonance around 2K when lugging around town (may have a slight leak at passenger TP so hold for final evaluation) - cold start (no tune) is loud but not obnoxious ...pretty BA actually I've had a Megan and an OEM mod on my car both without TP's. This setup is miles ahead of both.

Did you run TPs with an unmodded OEM muffler at all? |

Thanks for everyone's response and input it is much appreciated.
How bad is the smell with the full dinan? Noticable as in my wife will throw a fit and not want to be in the car? What about an x pipe with HFC if that is the case. Thanks again |
