Error code P1412 after starter replacement

I'm getting the P1412 error code after getting my car back from the shop for a starter replacement. The code description is "Secondary Air Pump/Secondary Air Valve Large Leak"

Can this be a result of a mechanic mistake or is this coincidental?

Something wasn't out on right. just take it back, you have a warranty.....

It's likely related as the air pump has to be removed to access the starter.
