The perfect car

There it is, about 675hp, sounds like an F1 car under hard acceleration, turned a 10.5 quarter and traps 131mph, has a built in cop catcher and clear bra front back and sides. The PCM is fixed and now works flawlessly without any resetting or failing to load the phone or hanging when loading the nav data. The best part of this is that I can drive this car every day and not worry about ridiculous depreciation because I let someone else take the first $35k hit. My neighbor has a new 458 spyder and a new Rapide. The 458 has 600 miles on it and the Rapide has only 300 so far. He says they always go back with about 2000 miles on them, he just likes the cars but never drives them much or very fast. Not so for me, I can drive my car around town and I pick up compliments all the time.

Nice! I never even considered the 911 until the 991 was released. Now it's squarely in my sights. Now, the question is do I want the GT3 or the Turbo. And the curve ball now is the new Z06 really caught my eye... And at a nice bit of coin less than the 911.

Personally, the turbo is the better buy. You get more useable car for the money. I think the spoiler on the GT3 is just too much to drive around town with. No doubt it is better for track days but the turbo has a good looking around own yet functional spoiler at 170mph (I can attest to this from experience). The power of the 991TTS is more shocking than the m5 and that is saying something. With mods on this car is a MONSTER! Bring it McLaren owners.

You need to drive both. The GT3 is EXTREMELY usable in town. Not as "soft" as a TTS but very comfortable. I can tell you this with certainty having owned both 991 variants back to back.

My choice hands down is GT3.

Yes but Scott Yancey drives a GT3, that's all I need to know.

Haha ok man! Have you driven the GT3? Not even close. So easy to drive around town and so much fun.

Bring on the McLarens huh? So you modded it all up to get it to par. OK. All sounds good until that AWD starts dragging you. Once we hit 100+ it is lights out brother! And I hear tunes are coming-lol

Just giving you some sh*t back FOOL! Glad you are loving the car. They are amazing machines. The launch on the TTS is just so violent!

Oh, I see. You prefer "vintage" over "hot". I get it. To each his own.

LOL! Need some more oil wells or oil to go back up so I can get a 458 spyder. I am trying to figure out how to get my neighbor to at least take me for a ride. I offered to take him for a ride in mine and he was content just to hear it rev up in front of the house.

I got to tell you, the tune dropped my 60-130 by 1.4s to 7.5s, the car is much faster up top now. I need to find a dyno here in Austin so I can see where all that power is but I can sure tell there is more higher up the rev range in higher gears. This thing really pulls past 125 now.

The M5 is my daily driver and is perfect as it's comfortable. I'm looking for something to have fun with on the weekends and be a bit more on the 'raw' side. Something I can drive to the track and make some laps... then drive home.

I am sure the GT3 wouldn't disappoint in that regard but the TT or TTS will still hold the curves way better than the M5. I still daily drive my m5 and my wife uses it too. It's got too much value in it to get rid of it at this point. It's a great way to spread the miles over more cars and not need a loaner when either of the others is in the shop.

Man, the Spider is a very cool car for sure! I don't know why but it doesn't "grab" me like the GT3. Just personal preference I think. Like Vic and I were saying on his thread, it is about the experience. When my Spider arrived I passed on it to get the MAC. To me, the "go kart" feel in a supercar is just so darn fun. To others I know it's that Ferrari aura. And I get it. Believe it or not, I even felt it in the Cali. Something about a Ferrari. Then again, something about a Porsche. Enjoy that bad boy!

Wow! Congrats man! A lot of wonderful car purchases being made around here lately. It's so exciting. I live vicariously through you all. You went all out too! Almost can't imagine what 765hp on that Turbo feels like! Insane!

Dave I hope to let you know what all that hp is like by this weekend. Hey William. I might be going up to Austin this weekend to Saltlick BBQ I'll call you if I do.

Beautiful choice, congrats. I am very curious as to the difference with the new 991 turbo over the previous gen. My dad has a 997.2 pdk turbo which I have had plenty of seat time in (even out at the racetrack, I am a member at spring mountain) - that car is a rocket ship.. I really need to drive a new one.
Being a huge 911 fan, I actually almost purchased a 997.1 gt3. It was between it and the M and I went with my car because it was just a more comfortable daily driver, while also a bit faster. I do love the gt3 however, especially the new 991. Even beyond the amazing engineering of the car, they sound just plain incredible.
What I passed on for my M-
Dad's car-

I am going out to Orla on Friday and won't be back until late Sunday, foiled again on getting together. Damn. I may sign up for that track day in January.

do your mods mean Porsche warranty would be void?
