Wizard of Oz doesn't like M4 ?
Another fricking moaner and whiner from;
http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/h...23-12cvw0.html "Biggest let-down: BMW M4 BMW's new turbocharged M4 isn't the well-honed driver's machine that the previous, V8 powered version was, trading linear power and razor sharp dynamics for a fairly wooden experience." Jesus H Christ - will it ever end? |

Wooden, hmmm. I kind of agree with that to some extent but I fail to see what it has to do with driving dynamics. The dynamics are up vs the E90 ( an exception is the dynamic range of steering feel ) while mechanical feel is way down. I guess you can call that wooden. Still a hoot to drive

Just remember that like our current news outlets, everybody is trying to step out and make a splash and sensationalistic impression. If they get a rise and a response then they have accomplished their job. My M3 experience is not colored by these opinions. Most of the populace will never be able to afford such a vehicle, and I count my blessings each day that I am fortunate enough to have such a mode of transport.
Happy driving...or tracking...

Ignore it or kill yourself. Those are your only options. And since you seem to be unable to ignore it.... I'll let you reach your own conclusion. Pun intended. |

In the real world with real people the M3/4 is perceived as a huge success. Reviews at this point in time are dated and useless. I can't tell you how many people came up to me at the No Fly Zone to admire and compliment my M4. All walks of life, from little kids to old biker dudes, everyone likes the car. They're bitching over at the Corvette forum how the new Z06 is much heavier (and suffers from heat soak) than its predecessor and point to the M3/4 as how a product line should progress.

Smaller foot print cars with good geometry tend to always have an advantage with editors choice.
The new F80/82 is larger, lighter and faster. It does lack in the small car feel department but it is way ahead of everything else compared to the previous model. I feel what the editors expect is a M2 out of the M4. Sorry, the new M4/M3 is a better rounded super powerful car now and not a pure sport tiny go kart that seats 4 like in the old days. I had a A4 loaner and I cannot believe how much larger the 3 series became. |
