New m4 vert - initial thoughts (sold 2010 e92)
I sold a 2010 m3 coupe to get m4. Why? I Ask myself that until I sit behind wheel. Drove m3 5 years and I miss it - the sound especially. What i DONT miss is what I would describe as lag when getting on the m3. I Have head up display (only thing my m3 didn't have or heated seats ((Texas)) and not sure how I lived w out it. It's a must now - the acceleration is crazy (of course many of u know this). The handling. Steering. Everything feels better in this and it's a vert so should feel heavy but doesn't at all. Now to fix the exhaust. M performance going on in week or so.

Congrats on the new car! But I beg to differ regarding your views.
I had an E92 M3 coupe and switched to an E93 M3 convertible for some top down summer fun. V8 coupled with Akrapovic exhaust is a match made in heaven when the top is down. The vert is definitely heavier than the coupe. But even from my experience driving the coupe, it was by no means laggy as you mentioned. The E9x M3s require you to keep the RPMs high to get greater enjoyment. I have test drove the M4 for an extended period of time. The available torque is nice starting from low down but it is a totally different experience from the V8. There is no good or bad, only individual preference. But I cannot agree that the M4 has better handling. The steering feel is so numb. It is over-assisted electrically and sometimes I don't know which way the car is pointing. Strangely, in Comfort mode it actually feels a bit better than in Sport mode. But overall with the technological advances, the F8x is still a very good car. Enjoy!
