Revscene Spring Meet 2015 - BMW Pre-Meet

So the annual Revscene spring meet is coming up, and the people over at E90Post are currently planning a pre-meet. Posting it here to see if there's any interest from M3 owners.

I will try my best to update this thread as well, but here's what we have so far:

Revscene Spring Meet Details:
Location: Spanish Banks
Date: Sunday, March 22
Time: 11:00 AM

BMW Pre-Meet Details:
Location: Oakridge Centre (Check main thread for exact location)
Meet-Up: 8:30 AM
Roll Out: 9:15 AM
Arrive at Spanish Banks: 9:45 AM

The reason we are leaving so early is because the parking lots at Spanish Banks usually gets filled up by 10:00. If we want good spots together, we have to get there before then.

This is the route we are planning to take:
(Minimize left turns and traffic lights)


There is a waiting area for people who get cut off by red lights (Mostly along 49th Ave) to catch up. We can wait 3-4mins for people there.

We ARE legally allowed to park there. The space looks narrow, but there's actually plenty of space to park.

Some basic rules to keep in mind:
- No burnouts/excessive revving
- No street racing
- No excessive speeding
- No reckless driving
- Don't run red lights

As mentioned before, we will be waiting for everyone to catch up just as Marine Drive opens up, so there is no need to run red lights or excessively speed! Keep in mind that because we are travelling in a group, there will be more attention towards us, and anything stupid will likely result in someone calling the cops and claiming "street racing."

After the sh**show last year with some of the idiots at Spanish Banks... plus the total cluster**** Thursday night meets have become...

Not worth the hassle or getting lumped in with all the idiots.

I'll probably just do a Sea to Sky cruise instead. :/

I'm pretty sure you have the Revscene meets confused with the WCCE meets. The WCCE meet last year at Spanish Banks had cars doing burnouts, cars in ditches, etc. People at Revscene meets are generally well behaved, and don't do anything stupid.

Also, Thursday night meets have nothing to do with Revscene, so I don't even see how that's relevant.

Plenty of people who identify themselves as Revsceners attended that WCCE mess - and show up on Thursdays at Market. How is it relevant? Normal Joes and Janes out there don't know the difference. Most cops don't know the difference. They probably don't care even if they did? As far as they're all concerned, we're all the same... and to those lacking in 'car' knowledge, we are the same.

Just statin' the facts, no harm, no foul - and nothing personal. Not trying to argue here; you're going to do what you're going to do. I'm sure you're a responsible, stand-up dude, as are the majority of Revsceners.

The bottom line, sadly, is that *any* large group of 'nice' or tuned cars in the Lower Mainland right now is going to draw attention of the negative kind... thanks to some of our peers who ruined it for all of us who have been coming out for stuff with zero issue for literally years.

I hope I'm wrong in that assessment. But I don't think I am. All of these large events are massive heat scores now.
