Question about a BMS chip for an N51/52

I found a chip for my 128 and was wondering if I had to keep the gas at over half a tank for the fuel pump or is that just on turbo cars? A buddy of mine told me that about his 135 and 335. Kinda confused to why it has to be like that also...

No need to keep your gas tank over half full - that's a load of malarkey, even for the turbo cars. It's just not necessary - but neither should you allow the tank to go completely empty, because whatever trash in the very bottom of the tank will get sucked up into the pump and then cause real problems.

FYI, they're not called "chips" any more - they're either software updates or "piggyback" tuning devices. Nobody's been able to put a chip in an ECU since the 90's.

While you are correct about running the car on empty too much is not good, the reason for it is not. The pump strainer always sucks the fuel from the bottom of the tank, so anything sitting in the bottom can get sucked in regardless of your fuel level. However, since the fuel in the tank cools the pump, as it is submerged in the fuel, running on empty will allow it to run hotter and can cause premature failure.
Regardless of that, get the AA tune, like the others said.

I don't run my car totally empty. Always fill up once the light turns on the first time. But that's like at a quarter of a tank. That's why when they said keep it at half it kind of scared me lol

The BMS powerbox doesn't really give an increase in power. I installed it on my friends auto 128 and she said it made the tranny feel a little less mushy in D. Not worth it overall.

Exactly, I bought mine before AA had their tune. It does make the shift points feel more "natural" instead of always trying to be in the highest gear for fuel efficiency. On a manual car it just makes the pedal sensitive.

The founder and tuner retired recently, so at this point they are selling canned tunes. Great if you just want a DISA tune and call it a day, but less great if you need custom things done.

AA is actively developing and custom tuning currently(as far as I know).

Thanks, that's good to know.
