2015 Z06
Thought I'd post a couple of preliminary pictures/thoughts of my new '15 Z06.
Car is Shark Grey with Black 3LZ interior; Z07 package; Competition Seats with Suede inserts; CF Dash; A8 transmission; CF 'Ground Effects' package; Black Stinger Hood Stripe; Carbon Flash painted Mirrors and Pearl Nickel Wheels with the Red Calipers. Maybe a couple of other things I've forgotten. I'm very happy with it so far. Paint looks excellent with very little 'Orange Peel', and all body panels seem very straight. Sounds ridiculous when the exhaust opens and seems to scare the poop out of anyone close by! You can configure the car to always leave the exhaust in the 'Open' mode btw. Power is just stupid as you might imagine with 650hp/650 lb ft of torque. I'm still in the initial break-in of 500 miles where you have to keep the revs under 4500; Gods know what it moves like when you keep your foot in it!! I am getting a second set of wheels for the track and will be getting some MPSS's for the street as the Z07 option comes with MPSC2's, and they can be a handful when its cold or wet outside. I bought it to get some more 'track' time as I haven't been in a couple of years and wanted to do it before I'm too old!! There are initial reports that the car might not be able to handle 25-30 minutes continuous running in the Advanced run groups in hot weather on track. That will be disappointing as GM proclaimed the car to be "the most track capable Corvette ever", and was one of the reasons I bought it over say a Viper or the GT3. (My primary reasons for not getting the GT3 was finding an allocation; initial cost differential of about $45K-$50K when optioned the way I wanted both cars, and long(er) term upkeep costs). If I can keep it running for HPDE sessions in the summer with an upgraded radiator +/- and additional engine oil cooler, I won't complain as I had to spend much more to keep my '09 GT-R running on track. I'll get some better pictures with the sun on it soon. Here you go: |

So nice!
I sent a build to my dealer. Z07, MT, Night Race Blue, Blue Interior, Comp Seats. But allocation is so limited in Canada I probably won't get one this year. I wouldn't be too worried about the car's limitations from the factory. The aftermarket for this car will be crazy. That is what I love about GM.

Once you break it in could you please give a full report on a 70-14X mph roll demo run. This stat is important to me. Does it pull harder than the M5?
Let me know when you can perform this test.

It's not too bad. I in fact lowered my clear center portion down to the lowest setting today by adjusting the torx screws, but even with it in the fully raised position you can still see behind you pretty well. Not an issue IMHO.

How fast is gear shifting compare to DCT (M5) or ZF8 (your Jag)?
