MY2016 allocation questions

Hi
I just agreed to a deal with my local CA on a MY2016 for ED in late August. He initially told me that they had available allocations but now says that MY2016 allocations are not available until the 2016 pricing is released. Does anyone know if that is true? If that is correct, is it possible to reserve a ED delivery data even without the allocation?
I only have limited time window to travel so I want to lock down my August date ASAP
thanks,

Ian

You can't lock in anything until pricing comes out. He is feeding you garbage. NO allocation, no ED deal.

Complete and total truth here.

You cannot schedule anything......HE doesn't even know when his 2016 allocations will come in, and how many he's getting. On top of that, who knows where you will fall in line with getting one of those.

Not meaning to piss on your cheerios at all, as I appreciate proper planning as much as you do, but not until the man tells you "I have a 2016 M3 Production number ready for you" can you plan anything.

thanks for the helpful (but depressing) replies. I am not so concerned about getting an allocation - I dont think M3/4 are in that much demand in the northeast in Sept) - but I am concerned that the August ED delivery slots will fill up.

Assuming they will come out in the next month or 2 you should be fine. About 2-3 months should be enough lead time lock in your ED date.

Make sure you stay on top of 2016 M3/4 release news. M festival is in May and pricing should be out then. You will also need to make sure you are at the top of the list for your dealer's 2016 allocations. If there are 8 people ahead of you, you're unlikely get a July/early August build for late August delivery.

thanks, sounds like good advice. I was told I was first on the list for allocations - of course I have no way of verifying that.

That's as good as you can do for now. Just be ready to pounce when the order banks open.
