But the M5 wasn't stock, so it beat the GT-R and that's great.

Ok so stock vs stock
M6 GC is almost the same as M5 (same powertrain and weight)
GT-R doesn't have the edge due to AWD here

So feel safe in racing a GTR if it's a rolling start

Hehe I see.

But if it's full throttle off-the-line, I presume that AWD benefits here...

But it isn't stock.

I find the M6 GC vid more credible because of stock/factory specs (e.g. no need to resort to Catless, Resonator Delete, Modified/Aftermarket Exhaust, 3rd Party Tuning, etc.)

That's the vid that impressed me (not the mod video)

Didnt say it was stock. I said it was a great win for the M5. I understand that you dont like to mod your vehicles. I dont like the slow lane because of rules and regulations that have made the M5 be de-tuned, limited and underutilized for its capability, just to be politically correct. The way my car is now I feel is how the M5 should be.

I'm telling you now. People will miss the F10 when it's gone. Memories will remain forever. What this car does as a daily driver and the feelings it hurts on roll runs is pretty amazing.

This car is a winner. 4 seats too. <-------

I only had mine for a short time but do miss the power and looks... I guess having the M6 nullified my desire for two S63tu's. The sound part always had me wanting more even with my Eisenmann Race.

Who knows maybe Ill get one again.... soon.

The M5 that resonates with me the most is my E39. For the time period I had it, it was amazing in all ways.

well not always...
Only when the road and weather are perfect then GTR can take advantage of AWD .... other wise ... um let's watch this

As a side note according to your original post about edge of AWD, you need to know AWD has more drivetrain loss which is a very important factor beside the power to weight ratio (in rolling races)... means for example a 600 HP RWD car can put more power down than 600 HP AWD when the traction is not an issue (ie rolling from 50 mph) and that's why M5/M6 can beat lots of high performance cars in their territory but AWD such as E63/CLS63 and even 400 lb lighter GTR.
Also everybody knows S63tu is highly underrated. This engine easily generates 600+ HP (stock)

Ah I see.....and I'm starting to understand.

So in conclusion:
If wet, AWD might struggle a bit off-the-line

But if dry, AWD can get advantage

Did I understand correctly?

Is this the reason why Audi S8 beat Alpina B7?

People keep GTR's stock to roll race?

Personally I think the m5 with the mod list that guy put up :
BurgerMotorSports piggyback
AFE air intake
AFE Carbon Scoops
AMS downpipes catless 3,5'
H&R dampers lowered 25 mm front and 15 mm back
Presilencer deleted
2 st 3,5' freeflow exhaust with x-pipe

It should have done much better vs. a stock gtr

I know JB4 {baseboost for early days in the JB4 life not the new 4lbs+} with charcoal deletes got me pulled on hard by a FBO GTR...

S8 is AWD and 4600 lb. Puts down (at wheels) 479 HP.
B7 is RWD and 4700 lb. Puts down (at wheels) 414 HP.
The test is performed in good condition (dry road and sunny California day)

I guess that makes sense.

On paper, Audi quotes 520 HP for their S8 while the Alpina B7 has 540 HP. Hence, even with thr heavier weight, the result should be neck-and-neck at the very least.

However yeah, as the video mentioned:
-There seems to be a difference in the drivetrain losses between the two vehicles
-That 4.0 TT V8 engine from Audi is obviously outputting way way more than the manufacturer specified 520 HP.

The owner told me he didn't have time to let his car adapt, because of the crappy weather in Sweden, I'm sure when it's adapted it should pull much more on that GT-RRR.

Its not full AWD like an audi or xdrive though. Its got a front wheel drive assist unit that kicks in when needed and as it reaches speed basically is RWD. My buddy broke his at the track and just uses it as a RWD car at the moment.

I guess... There aren't many quality videos out there of a apples to apples run to see if these cars are actually making the power they put down on dynojets.

The local guy here whose got an m6 CP with dinan stage 2+intakes and AMS Dps won't run my GTR to get video
