Are Electro-Turbochargers the future?
Audi seems to be taking a completely different direction than BMW. Audi apparently is developing Electric Turbo Technology and have already had some great success with it. Where as BMW seems to be utilizing much of the R&D and technology from it's BMW i Hybrid Program to power their regular models in the future and probably M cars too.
Seems like if you truly want to eliminate Turbo Lag Electric Turbos are the way to go, but BMW seems to want to eliminate Turbo Lag by utilizing a hybrid assist drive train design possibly. I wonder what the advantages and disadvantages of each will be in the future? http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ocharger-.html

I am digging this electric turbo charging methodology as it seems to involve a lot less additional weight compared to e-motor assisted propulsion.
