Some pics of my E46 M3 in Phoenix Yellow alongside an Austin Yellow M4.

Austin maybe slightly edges it.

Then again, your E46 is 12 years old. Beautiful car, well maintained. It still looks fantastic.

Wow they look much more alike in these pictures than I would have thought. I love both colors!

Awesome. Thanks for these pictures! Love them both, but I'm a bit partial to Austin Yellow. I've always felt PY is slightly mustardy. But hey, AY has been called much worse.

AY definitely is a bit darker and has more depth. it amazes me how well the looks of the e46 have aged. those boxy curves are just timeless. still the best looking M yet, IMO.

I love those more and more after getting mine. That generation just looks so damn cool now.

If anything phoenix yellow looks darker to me. It almost looks exactly like honey mustard. To a normal person they'll say they're the same colors, very close.

I'm surprised AY is so popular…I don't remember PY being as popular 10 years ago. I guess times and tastes have changed.

Love the E46 M3 in PY... but I'm biased towards the AY. Both cars are beautiful.

Are we looking at the same photos?

Hope this isn't another black&blue vs white&gold

This is the reason why Austin Yellow is far more popular this time around than Phoenix Yellow was. It really sparkles in the sun and that is why I (and probably) many other bought it for.
