Nobody is wrapping anything, at least that's how I'd like to picture our crew.
Vinyl wraps before coffee as a topic should be banned. Stop this nonsense right now.

I considered it but the idea that there's imperfect wrapping on my car really bothers me. Also the same reason I haven't tinted my windows. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to putting things on my car.
BUT, I also hate chips in my paint...sigh |

Surely (most people here are named Shirley, right?) a clear front bra to defend against rock chips is not offensive... or is it? A full wrap admittedly does seem a bit over the top, however.

No vinyl wrap, but I have Expel on the full front and roof, rockers and rear fenders will be done at some point, I want it looking great 10 years from now, with original paint intact.

People spend thousands clear bra'ing the entire car practically. If you aren't in love with the color options, why not wrap the car to a color you prefer while protecting oem paint?

I'll probably do a clear bra on the front. I chipped the bumper slightly on a parking curb and I'm super pissed... So when I fix it I'm gonna clear bra the front.
Might do cf vinyl on the mirror caps, but that would be it. Who knows, might wrap if I do Gold Rush in the M3 or down the road if I get bored

Please point the part to love? The only thing I can come up with is that no matter what happens in my life, that car will never be mine.

My car has been booked in for a wrap since February with one of the premier wrapping companies in the UK. He is so far booked in advance that my car still won't be done until mid September |

Wanted a moon roof but don't like it standing out so ugly in contrast with the SO roof, so my roof is wrapped gloss black. I've got a photo around here somewhere.

Once I get my m4 I'm considering wrapping it. I'm planning on doing it myself with maybe hiring and extra set of hands.
The reason I like wraps is they look just as good as the paint as long as the surface is prepared properly, the vinyl is installed properly, and you get good vinyl. If you put it on your brand new car (allow the 90 day gas out period) it will keep the finish in perfect condition. I'm sure the clear coat on BMW is much higher end than other manufactures, but generally the vinyl is more scratch resistant than the clear coat because it's so soft. The main thing for me is piece of mind, knowing that I don't have to worry about rock chips and scratches that will inevitably happen. IF you drive a lot and your front end vinyl gets a little marked, you just remove it and replace that panel. You could clear bra the whole car, but it'd be more expensive and is not something I think I'd be able to do myself. Here's some pics of one of my bikes that I've wrapped. These are small curved parts with some sharp angles, so it took a while and was a bit of a pain. But it's held up 100% for nearly 2 years. It really pops in direct sunlight too. I have 5 by 50 feet of an anthracite gloss metallic that I was going to use for my current car, but might just save it and put it on the m4. The first pic is the brand new unwrapped bike for reference. This is avery's dark blue metallic, and the white is 3M 1080 series matte pearl white. The only areas not wrapped are the 2 black strips on the side fairings with the white stripe and the yamaha. I didn't want to reproduce those decals. Last edited by Demxsr; 06-29-2015 at 02:52 AM.. |
