Can you write a little bit how your new car when stock and modded compared to your n54 135i in terms of performance and the sound? I have a 135i so I'm very curious how the power and sound compare

The M4 is leagues ahead of the 135i in terms of chassis stability, cornering, agilty and comfort. I had the auto slush box on the 135i and the DCT is just far superior which is to be expected. Granted the M4 is $25,000 more than what I paid for my old 135i but the handling and driving characteristics are just so much more appealing.

The car is planted, there is little drama in the back end even when you are hard on the throttle and the wheels break loose. I find it so much easier to steer with the throttle in the M4 than in the 135i, likely because of the LSD and the evolved suspension and chassis stiffness. I used to get a little panicy in my 135i when the tires broke loose, not so much in my M4.

The throttle response is quite similar to the N54, torque way down low, little to no noticeable turbo lag at all. The S55, out of the box, just packs so much more of a wallop. Basically, take a fulll bolt on N54 and you have a stock S55.

I am a bit of a straight line junkie (I know, BMW are not made for this but...). My 135i was no slouch, it trapped a best of 11.5 @ 123mph with full bolt ons, meth and race gace. I am hoping the M4 with just JB4 and downpips and pump gas will surpass this performance.

Also, the S55 sound is extremely under-rated, I really like how it sounds. I plan on posting a video up once my downpipes go in to demonstrate the sounds it makes with DPs and valves open. It certainly is not obnoxious and you can also run with the valves closed for more civility.

I would not hesitate to move on from the 135i and into an M3/4 if you have the chance. Don't get me wrong, the N54 was/is an awesome platform, I loved my 135i, but you will find that the S55 powered M3/4 will just blow you away in terms of sheer driving joy.

Here is my old 135i in action:

Very good summary... I have significant experience w both as well. I think the M4 blows away the 135i on stability, handling, transmission and just overall sheer capability. I think the 2 places were the 135i has an advantage is its size/weight as well down low tq. Because the N54 has smaller turbos, the down low tq is simply more pronounced and imho more immediate. Everywhere else, the S55 runs away... especially the entire wide powerband.

Just moved to Bluetooth version Rev3 kit but will make a video. Mobile interface is the same so it will still apply.
