The E30 looks great, but my GOD, the F80 looks like it ate 2 or 3 E30s.

Uh lets not make the 3 series any bigger.

These pictures really do demonstrate just how big these cars have become - What a shame!

That's the first thing I thought when I realized it was parked behind me. I'm however glad for the back seat and cargo space in the F8X so that I didn't have to consider a 5er as an everyday, do-it-all car.

Great shots Doc. Was awesome seeing your car in contrast to the E30. And that car is very clean, despite the odo getting close to 200k miles!

IMO, these shots distort reality a little bit. Yes, the E30 is a flyweight compared to the F80. But having seen these two cars together yesterday, I will tell you that when viewing the two, the "holy crap the F80 is big" thought never once entered my head.

Thanks! Progression can be viewed many ways. I just had to take advantage of the opportunity presented here

The F8X/F3X hides it's size well. But it's still huge; I hate that it's gotten SO big. IMO, they could have given it nearly the same practicality (back seat, trunk), but not made it bigger than the E9X. I like BMW's, and I had a hard time at first telling the difference between a 3 and 5 series at a quick glance. 3 is the new 5 i guess

And to be fair, next to an E30, the E90 looks like a pig too.

Red is such a great color on the E30.

BTW OP, the splitters and lip look great

Thanks!

Seems like BMW had to bloat the car to accommodate their ever-expanding lineup over time.
