just ordered my 2016 m3 tanzanite blue/sakhir!!!

after much research and inner battles, the m3 won over the mb amg c63, amg c63s and the upcoming c450 amg. i finally realized that I didn't like the mb dash display as much as the m3's. Also mb did not offer a bright blue in the USA. MB does offer brilliant blue in Europe but that would be crazy to go to Germany to pick it up. I was also skeptical of the MB millisecond lag when at a stoplight, etc...the 7-spd dual-clutch resolves that neatly. 3.9 sec 0-60 didn't hurt either nor did the YouTube amg c63s v m3 review where the m3 won by .7 secs.

Great choice. The AMG's have their benefits without a doubt but...hey, I'm an M fan, what else can I say!!

sounds like a fabulous color combo. Did you go with full leather?

What benefit is that? To be mistaken for a 65 yr old vs. someone younger? LOL

Hi JTmarlin, no I went with the extended merino...the full leather was a bit much for my budget. Nice combo with your M3. Did you get the $1,000 credit from BMW Team USA for test driving a BMW? I did and need the car to get delivered within 60 days. I think I will be sweating that out but the dealer said that I could take another test drive and apply that credit and that if it's BMW's delay, BMW may still honor the credit. Do you know how long it's on the ship to cross the Atlantic and then in port processing? HAVE FUN & ENJOY!!!

No, no, no!

It is a FANTASTIC choice. (I would choose the same if not for the HIGH price on that color.)

We need pics the soon you have it.

If the dealership had an allocation, you can get your production order number the day you signed the deal. And the dealership knows the build week of their allocation before they even sell it to you. So, you should be able to ask them the "original/tentative" build week of your allocation.

Did the dealership have an allocation when you signed? If so, ask them for your production order number, then call the BMW Genius line and ask them what your tentative build week is, and what your production status number is. 1.844.4GENIUS (443-6487)

OP, I see that you're located in NYC. Which dealer did you go through? I also placed an order recently, I'm currently 42week build.

just ordered my 2016 m3 tanzanite blue/sakhir!!!

update: 7 weeks from inking my deal, the m3 is still in the production phase. my 60 days-$1,000 credit qualifying period basically goes until the end of October. It is impossible that the car will be at my dealer within the 60 days. That's the bad news, on the good side, my dealer is trying to get me, 1. to take another test drive to get another $1,000 credit, 2. he's offering to get BMW to extend the 60 days if needed and 3. he's telling me that there is a $750 offer from BMW now that he could apply if needed so that i'd only need to add in $250. I think he's trying to get me the $1,000 come hell or high water. We shall see. I just want the car. i saw the tanzanite blue in the dealership and thought it darker than i thought from internet photos but still really nice... it will get much brighter on sunnier, noncloudy days. i like the changing and contrasting looks to the deep, rich tanzanite blue paint.

thanks all for your replies and comments to my posts...all very helpful! thanks!

Great choice! I saw an M3 with that exact color combo at a dealer the other day. Very nice! The Tanzanite looked very dark, but the sky was overcast.

Good luck!

Great color. My Tanzanite Blue with Silverstone should be getting here soon. FYI - You can apply the $750 and the $1000 together and get $1750 off right now.
