Driving with no muffler

Hey Everyone,

So this might be a weird question, but would it be alright if I drove with the muffler removed from the axle-back? About 5 miles is all I need to go.

If you're curious, I have arranged with someone to borrow their lift to remove the muffler, so I can take my car home and do the stock exhaust mod to the car, then I have to drive back to his shop to put the car back on the lift to remove the muffler.

The only problem I could see would not being able to find someone to do a few drive-bys while you stand outside and listen to that unmuffled V8 scream!

It will be fine. Only problem will be that may like the sound and be bummed you spent money on a muffler.

Sounds good! (no pun intended). The only thing I was worried about was the pipes dangling due to no support.

Drive slow.. If it's only 5 min, you should be OK.

Yes but leave front windows down to give you give you fresh air since muffler less exhaust may get into cabin.

The midpipe is supported in the middle and will be fine for 5 miles without the rear exhaust attached.

be sure to drive through your neighborhood either really early in the morning or really late at night.

Lol!

And drive through fast food places. They'll love the exhaust smell wafting through their windows.

If you have a Harley or sportbike owner in your neighborhood who revs by your house early mornings, now is the time.

I recommend WOT at all times with the no muffler set up. Drove around between exhaust set ups like this for a day. Couldn't stop laughing.

I've heard that exhaust ball bearing will stop working!!!! Lol

Nothing will happen to the car. Maybe you will get a ticket and get some crazy looks. Wear ear plugs or ear muffs.

I got a vid somewhere of a race I did against a supercharged e60 M5 with exhaust dump no muffler. One of the most glorious sounds ever.

What's this smell everyone's talking about. Axle back means that it'll be catted so the smell would be the same as stock.

Leave the windows open. The smell is irrelevant. Be careful of carbon monoxide. It is only 5 miles you should be fine.
