Evolve F10 M5 vs AMGs, McLaren, M4, M5, Ferrari at Vmax Hypermax (Videos)

Had a blast at the VMAX Hypermax event this Saturday. Its a really well organised event with selection of interesting cars in attendance including La Ferrari, Bugatti Super Sport WRE, Koeinigsegg One:1 and lots of others.

Our F10 M5 currently has the following modifications:

Evolve Catless Downpipes
Evolve Stage 2 ECU Flash
Eventuri Carbon Intakes (Prototypes)

The car is running on 93 Octane fuel and on stock size Pilot Super Sports.

vs C63 AMG with Weistec Supercharger, Headers, Meth

vs Brabus S63 BiTurbo

Struggled with traction up to top end of 3rd but still pulled on him.

vs Manic Motorsports Stage 2 tuned F10 M5

This was one of the first runs so forgot about the wide angle but you can see the car in the wing mirror as our car pulls away.

vs Ferrari 458 with 4 adult passengers as we were on our way to lunch :thump:

vs Evolve F10 M5 with same modifications without the Eventuri Carbon Intakes.

vs F82 M4 Stock

Short shifted in this one for some reason.

vs McLaren MP4-12C

This was the last air strip event to be held in the UK until next year. We are trying to find one in Europe to attend so if anyone knows of one let us know!

I noticed you are in D mode, is that a better setting than in S mode for these types of events?

I keep saying something really bad is going to happen at one of these events. They have no regulations and basically anyone can rent a airstrip, host an event, and make whatever rules they want. To have a bunch of guys with cars pretty much all north of 100k, doing 200mph blast with no helmets is just plain silly. Add the rule and the turnout is EXACTLY the same

The organisers have been running these events for 13 years now. http://www.vmax200.com

It is not just a bunch of guys renting out a track.

Helmets are mandatory for cabriolets and cars with roll cages.

At the end of the day people can reach these speed on destricted autobahns in Germany and helmets are not mandatory.

Everyone attending is an adult and can make their own minds up. I agree though it would not change the outcome.

that is a monster M5 you have there

would you never use Launch Control with the tunes and upgrades you have done as the gear box/DCT wouldn't take it?

On other BMW's when they are running quite a bit more power than stock the LC doesn't work too well.

I've stayed away from it so far but may give it a go at some point.

Great runs OP! I especially enjoyed the fully loaded M5 vs. the 458

Msizzle: they're in km/h, not mph... so 200 km/h, not 200 mph.

Thanks!

Speedo is in mph

If it took that long to get to 200 kph I would be upset ;-)

Nice videos.

Surprised you were able to close the gap on the 12c especially after the half mile mark or so.

I keep watching these videos over and over haha... It still boggles my mind how you reached 200 mph so easily with just a tune, downpipes, and intake, and with just 93 octane and stock tires!

buddy we also used to smoke on airplanes until we figured out it was a bad idea.... To do any kind of motor sports event with no helmet is flat-out insanity. IF the helmet even gives you even a 1% chance extra to live then its worth it. If this was a pros and con scenario there is no cons to wearing a helmet to do 200mph in your car while racing another car going 200 mph 10ft away.

Be safe out there

every race you see on GT Board would see drivers with no helmets. and significantly closer together than Imran's races... I understand your point to a degree, it's obviously a personal choice thing, but it's not like he's the only dude racing on a straight without headgear on.. throw in some corners, barriers and overtaking, then yeah get a helmet on... Top Gear guys and other motoring TV presenters never wear helmets when doing drag races... I guess they rarely hit 200mph of course...
