Ohio E-check with aftermarket x-pipe

Anyone in Ohio running an xpipe (HFC or catless)? If so, have you had any issues passing an E-check (even with the CEL alarm coded out)?

I've never had to do an echeck? Is it a car you're buying?

I already have the car (E92 M3). I am just wondering if adding an aftermarket xpipe (whether its HFC or catless) has any effect on passing an e-check (even with the CEL alarm coded out).

Unless things have changed, why do you need an echeck?

I just read that this is a county by county thing, that's why I've never had to do it. Sorry I can't be any help, just wanted to make sure you weren't worrying for nothing.

Cuyahoga county has a self service E-check program. The great thing about this is there is no one there looking under your car or touching your car for that matter. Just have to pass the OBD2 section of the emissions test. I would talk to a tuner and see if that is feasible with your current setup.

Where in CLE are you located? I have a strange feeling that I have seen you on the highway in your M3...do you take 271 south home from work every day? Any mods on your car or future mods? I'd be more than happy to share some of the resources I have used for mods on my M3 so PM me.

Yes I do! I live in Lyndhurst. Its the first fast car I have owned so I've been tearing 271 up for awhile.

So far AA green filter and AA test pipes. Also got body color side reflectors. Future mods is definitely BPM stage 2 and DCT.

I have GTS DCT software on mine, and its great. When your ready for it, let me know. There is a guy on this forum who does remote coding/GTS DCT software for a VERY competative price.

I'm running the Macht Schnell Catless x-pipe w/ the AE performance rear section, Macht Schnell cold air intake, and a few cosmetic mods. I actually ordered the BPM stage 2 tune yesterday and should have it installed by the weekend. It would be cool to meet up sometime, as I really have not found too many M3 owners from Cleveland on the forum. I'm in Chagrin Falls.

Also, there are a few car meets coming up if your interested. There is one at Mentor High School in about a month (500+ cars last year) and there is a big one in August called Fatmans Invasion at the Thompson drag strip (over 1500 cars last year). Let me know if your interested. I never see any other E9X M3's at these events lol.

Nice! I'm pretty sure I saw you the other day, did you take exit 32 on 271 north? It was a black e92 with a loud exhaust! It sounded nice, couldn't tell it was loud until you gave it some gas. Any reason you went with GTS DCT and not the BPM DCT software, besides the price difference? I actually messaged Mike yesterday and I may be getting the whole BPM package (stage 2 tune, DCT, and coding). Should be any day now... Yeah we should definitely meet up. Your e92 was the first I've seen since I bought mine in September.

Definitely interested in the car meets. Never been to one! Mentor is pretty close.

Yea, that was most likely me on that exit.

I echecked an Acura RSX for 13 years with no issues. I had Hondata and could clear codes. Do the self service and you should have no issues.

If you have a person do it, they do still use mirrors, but I can't believe they can tell if a cat isn't there or o2 sensors.

Also, I'd like to hear that Macht Schnell. I just picked up an M3 in June. It came with a FloMaster. Sounds great outside of the car. Unfortunately I'm always inside the car.

Here is a link to my review on the Macht Schnell xpipe (I have it paired with the AE Performance rear section). There is a short video at the bottom.

Read it.

I imagine the burble will go away with a tune. I love it as well. Same with the cough between upshifts!

Advanced ignition + Lean A/F ration = More Power....no burble..

I want a tune just to get rid of the cold start. Nearly undrivable at low throttle. Wake up the hood every morning!

Btw, anyone here swapped suspension bits?

I'm looking to go back to stock springs. So if you've upgraded and those stock springs are sitting in the corner of your garage...i'll take'm...as long as they don't have a billion miles on them.
