Anyone seen this color in person? I took this image from the individual app.

Looks cool! I think greys, blacks, and whites look great, but i also think they get lost in a sea of grey, black and white cars. This is me venting... Silver though, with the potential of some light/dark depth is so interesting. I think this is why i love my AY versus SO or YMB, which are awesome, but don't have the feeling of depth.okay, random morning vent over.
I wonder if this is something new? |

I'm sure the color is balls out amazing in real life. But every single print photograph that BMW uses is so post processed, that it might as well be a different color all together.
Check out the Macau Blue print photos vs the real thing. |

The most expensive paint from bmw costing like 9k if I can recall. There was someone on this board that order his f10 m5 in it. Look amazing, there's a video on the process of the paint also.

Having never seen either one in real life, photos of BMW Pure Metal Silver have never really impressed me as much as the photos of Alubeam Silver MB used to offer on the SLS.

I asked my BMW Individual rep and they indicated this paint code is not available on the M3/M4 as the paint booth is not set up at the plant for liquid metal.
Oh well... Would have looked beautiful. |

I don't believe BMW Individual will approve Liquid Metal on an M3 or M4.

Would it really cost more? The effect of this paint is in the alignment of the metal flakes in the color coat, nothing to do with the clear coat, and paint correction only should touch the clear....
Or am I confused? Or did you mean repair having to repaint a section. Then yes, it would be super expensive! Last edited by Needsdecaf; 01-10-2016 at 05:08 PM.. |

A friend on our euro trip this summer bought an M5 the year previous in this colour and it was later damaged. He advised the repair (colour match) was perfect and yes, it was more expensive to repair but he didn't elaborate. As to your comment on "just silver" I have to agree but in person it's supposed to be stunning. So I'll hold final judgement until that day comes.
