Looking to replace my cleaning supplies

Hey all I'm looking to replace a majority of my cleaning supplies for my my M3. As it stands right now I'm just using some really crappy generic car cleaner, diluted down considerably to hopefully reduce the amount of abrasion or chemicals that are applied to my newly paint corrected, and sealed car. I do utilize the two bucket method, with grit guards. My mitts are getting old though and I would like to replace those as well. I as wondering though what does everyone else use in terms of soaps, clays, foam gun vs non-foam gun, and wash mitts and brushes for wheels etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If it's any help the car is Alpine white. Thanks!

Check out Money2536. Matt has his own website (www.obsessedgarage.com) which offers an awesome write up of all the supplies he uses and why. I am currently buying some new products while waiting for my F80.

For car wash, I like this product:

http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...Picks&refType=

I use a mitt on the wheels, not a brush. I have a couple of different kinds of mitts and think there are numerous acceptable solutions available.

Thank all.

Graham: I'd forgotten about his actual website. thanks for this. I might have to invest ion some of those products.

DetailersDomain: I'm looking for just the basics currently, soaps, mitts, brushes and the like for the wheels. I may have to get another bucket for wheel soap and such. If you would be so kind as to start a list for me and quote me a price for some essentials or all of the essentials and PM that list and price for me it would be greatly appreciated or just PM the list and I'll probably just end up buying a bunch of stuff. Or what I can do is PM you a list of some of the items I'm looking at currently to purchase.

DetailersDomain,

another quick question. As I am now moving back to working days (I currently work nights) what wax and or sealant would you recommend for my vehicle, as well as what types of wax would work well. Does it matter if the car is wrapped with say Xpel Ultimate or SunTek? I'm still fairly new to detailing . Thanks!

Any wax won't hold up as long on XPEL or suntek as it would on paint. Sealants like Sonax Polymer net shield or nanolex sealant work great. I know Phil at Detailers Domain sells it. I order from him all the time and his customer service is top notch

Use some of these, especially Adams soap but also their detailer solution for touch ups. You guys ever use PoorBoy's Wheel cleaner? I use it all the time and pretty impressive (at least to me ) - most definitely not an expert in this area!

Thanks all for the responses. And glad someone else got some use out of it as well! I've ordered my stuff and it should be here on the 30th :P I can't wait! Also thanks for the insight on Sonex PNS.

Are there other products like it? Always like to keep the options open however I will more than likely be buying Sonex PNS :P due to the posts here.

Sonax PNS is great.

To top it or when doing maintenance washes you can use

Kenotek Showroom Shine
Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer

So, use Sonax PNS as the under coat or "wax" if you will, then during weekly washes or maintenance washes, use Sonax Brilliant Shine or Kenotek showroom shine, to refresh the coating, I assume?

On the first application you want to make sure your car is cleaned up.

If you need to decon it, do so if you need to clay, clay it, if you need to polish it, polish it.

After you are satisfied with the look of the paint apply the Sonax PNS (will last 3-6 months)

Once applied during your weekly or bi weekly washes you should top it off with Kenotek Showroom Shine or Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer both will work great.
