Installed STAHPTECH BBK
Me and CosmosMpower installed a custom Stahptech BBK last night.
ST60/ST41 kit. 380x32 all around. If it weren't for the obvious rear Parking brake drum I could see someone installing the rear rotor on the front. Yeah they the same diameter as the stock, but they do have more cooling vanes than stock. Also these fit under 18" Alex EC7 wheels which I confirmed. With and without spacers. Custom Porsche 918 "Acid Green" finish and logos made by me. Enjoy! |

Haahaha...nice!
There is actually a little-known and rich history surrounding the StopTech name! When StopTech was initially formed, one of the names under discussion was "Schtek". The original owners thought it might be appealing because it sounded German. Early on when we were designing the other calipers to fill out the range (ST-60, ST-22, etc...the ST-40 caliper was the only one originally), we also agonized over the little symbol in the center of the caliper. We caught a lot of flack about the logo, and that it wasn't particularly attractive. I remember having waaaaay too many meetings about that. We always threw the name stop-o-tek around back in the day, and we joked about changing our name to "Calipera" after Rotora came on the scene. There was even a joking discussion at one point about having a corporate mascot, 'Stoppy The Clown'. He'd pop up, squeeze a little horn, and bonk you over the head with an iron disc...think Krusty the Clown from the Simpsons. Wait, I thought they were Brownbo's? Good stuff. |

Seriously though, that's a pretty cool story on Stoptech name/history. I've always hated their logo. |
