BMS Intakes No Tune?
Hey guys,
I was looking into the bms intakes and was hoping to find out if a tune is absolutely required to run these intakes. The main reason I like the intakes is because you can actually hear the turbos spool, I don't really want more power on the car. If I put these on with no tune will it harm the car in anyway, will it change any engine parameters for example will the car compensate with more boost/less boost, or will the car just run the way it would if it were on stock intakes? Any help is appreciated, I am not too familiar with engine modifications on this platform

No tune required. Slap them on and enjoy!!
But take care to properly install the MAF sensors in the new intakes. Make sure to lube the o-rings on the MAF sensors before installation to insure proper sensor seating. a little motor oil on the o-rings is all that's needed. |

You really buy an intake for the sound not the gains.. Gains are marginal at best on an intake on stock tuning.
The sound on the other hand is amazing Mike |

Anyone claiming massive gains on an intake is usually full of it. Every intake I've put on any of my cars has increased the sound. That's the best part of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you'll get a lot more sound with a tune

Higher boost = louder sound

Intakes are more for sound, more sound with a tune since there is more boost.
It's pretty hard to feel the ~10HP. It's about a 2% difference which is negligible, you'll lose or gain more power depending on ambient, humidity or elevation changes (although technically you won't as this car is supposed to adapt). But now I'm getting off on a tangent. No tune required |
