How to spot genuine/OE M359s ?

Hi, I'm about to buy an E90 M3 saloon, which is advertised as having genuine M359 wheels.

Just wanted to know if there is an easy way to confirm that they are genuine, rather than replicas.

Any help appreciated!

does it have the competition package? competition package was only available for a few years on e90's. not sure if it was any different in your market. a sure way to find out is to take the wheel off and look at the back of it.

Ok thanks. I don't think it was a competition pack car. Is there a way to tell apart from the wheels ?

And what should I look for on the back of the wheels ?

Unless you can tell from the finish of the wheel, you will have to take the wheels off to verify for sure.

Run the VIN through one of the many decoders online. You will see an option for the Competition Package.

Many thanks. Much appreciated.

Am buying from a UK main dealer but will ask them to verify, and will take a look at time of collection.

front wheel offset is different. AG 359's are more aggressive on stock alignment - the front wheels are more flush with the fender than the rear wheel. Meaning the front wheel sticks out more than the rear. Makes the steering feel very "heavy".

On the factory ZCP wheels, on stock alignment with front wheels are more "set in" the fender compared to the rear wheel/tire and consequently the steering feels a lot lighter in comparison.

The rear wheel offset is the same on the AG 359 and the factory ZCP wheel.

I have both and switch between the two for my daily driving (factory ZCP with PSS) and my track setup (AG 359's with RE71Rs)

Take some silly putty or chewed gum and "stamp" it behind the spokes close to the center. You will see the letter stamping reversed when you remove it. Just compare to the photo that scaramanga posted.

Anyone know if there's any meaning to the triangle, circle and square markings near the hub?

if someone owns both, do you mind posting a pic of the rears side by side for comparison? I still think the AGs have softer lines while the oem spokes just look a tad sharper/crisp.
