ARM racing Intercooler review w/ IAT and etc
Someone finally reviewed the ebay cooler.
Looks to be decent for what it is despite the vendors complaining about how bad it should be from the design. Stock IAT Stock IAT Stock IAT Aftermarket IAT Aftermarket IAT Last edited by killerhurtalot; 06-25-2016 at 11:02 PM.. Reason: Pics |

Wonder what the ambient temp was. Can't have been that hot. Sub 130 F at the end of a pull isn't so bad for stock fmic. Mine would go up to around 140-150 if I recall.
True test of an aftermarket unit IMO is full gear or multi gear pulls with iat delta and time to recovery when it's hot out as two rats fucking in a wool sock.

According to the video, it's done by the guys at BoostHaus (never heard of them so I googled it) which looks like it's just a few guys running a small mod shop out of their house in Antioch, CA
Looking at the historical data for April this year in Antioch, CA, between 6 PM and 12 AM, it's probably in the mid 50s temperature wise when they did the test. |

That's about what my IAT's are with my aftermarket IC. it's usually 8-12 degrees warmer than ambient temps at cruising speed. Also, 100% agree that the true test is the IAT recovery from a pull, that really shows what an IC can do.

Bad weld quality on the core could cause a failure. Beyond that it would just be mount points being out of spec with low QA. Otherwise a fmic is a fmic.
If I could shoehorn my CXR unit in, I really question claims where folks can't make a fmic fit.
