I can meet tomorrow with my ACM exhaust mod but not until after 6pm. Might be a little too late? :

I have ACM test pipes + a Megan Racing exhaust, would definitely be down to join in on the meet if it hasn't happened yet.

In three years time, I've gone through the following exhaust changes:
Eisenmann Race
Eisenmann Sport
Eisenmann Race
Stock
Corsa
Custom X-Pipe #1
Corsa #2 (black)
Mastermind X-Pipe with new Vibrant 1792's
Back to stock mid-section ultimately
Akrapovic Evolution, Used, but great condition for $2800 installed

Except for my Corsa #2, all of them were bought used. However, if I add up all of the time I spent obsessing, wrenching, paying shops and the obvious loss you take when selling your used car parts, I could have easily just bought this Akrapovic Evolution system new and I still wasn't happy with it because I was still tempted to tinker with it.

If I could do it all over again, I would say that Corsa is the only way to go if you're going to remain with factory cats/midsection. It will continue to sound amazing and unique if you do a quality midsection like an ESS X-Pipe with high flow cats or a catless and quad resonated mid-section. You can get a Corsa used for like $1,000 or less. You can road trip all day without tinnitus or drone.

If you want a guaranteed quality, confirmed gains and 50 pounds of weight savings for a marginal amount of extra money, jump on a used Akrapovic Evolution. I was waiting for a used ESS X-Pipe to come out and saw this come up and went with it instead. In the end, I would have been equally happy with either outcome as I've heard/driven the Corsa/ESS setup in my friend's E92 and I love it.

Feel free to learn from my costly tinkering

If you're a volume guy, personally I think straight pipes with a muffler delete sounds the best. It's essentially just releasing that amazing V8 tone. Most people ride in my car with a weird look on their face asking if it's a v10 or 12. That high exotic pitch is amazing.

Favorite exhaust moment was when I pulled up next to this bearded guy on a Harley and he gave me a rev and looked over. I wrapped the tac to about 7k, and he pulled down his shades, looked over and gave me a thumbs up.

I've got the Meisterschaft GT2 racing exhaust with ESS test pipes and cat deletes. It is loud but it sounds amazing with very little drone. At WOT, it absolutely screams.

Downshift rev matches in DCT 4/5 setting on the street absolutely scares the crap out of anyone walking down the sidewalk.

I love it.

Yep! It was just too good to pass up, he was really cool too. My Corsa/Catless setup sounded 'better', but this is a close runner-up. With the weight reduction it was a no brainer imo. $56/lb is a steal for these cars.

There are a few similarly price Akra systems FS too. I'd jump on one of them.

i had a corsa on my old e46 M3 and absolutely loved it - thought it sounded perfect... better than the esienman and rogue that followed. but when it broke corsa's customer service was horrible! they would not sell me just the one muffler i needed to replace, even though i was willing to pay full price for it. i wasn't even trying to get it covered under warranty. because of my 6 month debacle with them i will never buy another corsa. sad because they sound great.

tempted to jump on one of the many akras on sale. i just might convince myself to pour even more money into this thing
