Full bolt-on M3s - tire recommendations?
What is typical? 255/275 PSS?
Currently running 245/265 Conti Extreme DWs. Can't wait to drop the tires.

I think it would help if you explain your driving style and intended use for the car.
In other words, is this a DD? Weekend car? Do you track it? If so, how often? Frankly, I think the PSS in the 255/275 size is plenty of tire for a street car and it will handle an occasional track day without much fuss (just watch tire pressures and don't push things to the absolute limit). The next step up puts you into some really expensive tires that don't last as long, sacrifice a lot of wet grip for a tiny bit more dry grip, and ride like shit. I went up to AD08Rs because I track the car, and the on-road manners are far worse than the PSS: ride is very harsh and more tread noise.

I don't have a bad thing to say about MPSS or S-04's. 255f/275r should be fine.

The best thing you can do to make this car handle better is a bigger front tire on a 9.5"-10" front wheel. Git yourself a pair of stock rear 359M for the front while you're waiting for the DW's to die

I went with 275/295 setup and it is the way this car should have came from the factory. I am not on the OEM ZCP wheels, but on 19X10 and 19X11 wheels.

I'm running 255/285 35 PSS with 15mmF/ 12mmR spacers.. I should have gone 285/30 rear because I have minor rubbing with 35's even on 10mm spacers.. It absolutely sticks to the road, even in the rain.
Hands down, MPSS is the best daily street tire I've driven on. |

Very happy with my 255/275 PSS set up. Full bolt on's oem zcp suspension here. Big upgrade in grip from the oem ps2 245/265. Like many I wish you could buy a PSS in a 285/30, but if you are not supercharged or tracking often I think the 255/275 PSS is ideal.
S04's are very nice, I have run them on other cars. A bit softer ride and a bit less dry grip and slower turn in. They are very heavy in m3 sizes. |
