That's really awesome !
I have the "CTEK multi XS 7000" charger and it works for the last 3 years just perfect for my battery because the ///M is not my DD.
Think CTEK is the best on the market for our battery ..
Here on this page you can see pics of my CTEK in action # 26 => http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...1#post15488771

Took a few days to go from 80% to 100%
I have the 7002 hooked up to the battery.
Usually I do it from under the hood.... but wanted fast results with this device

how much was it? i'm not quite sure what the benefit is when the money could just be spent on an actual charger.

$50
Amazon
I ordered another for 330i.
I have four Ctek chargers
This makes it handy not to have to check them with multimeter

Next I will disconnect ctek7002 from battery and go through underwood terminals.
I will also switch from 7002 to the 4.3.... I am curious to put it in normal mode to see if that holds the charge as opposed to snowflake/AGM mode on the 7002. Should be interesting. The 4.3 should hold battery to 100%

Installed one of these on our F10 yesterday, and really like it. Seems to be updating more regularly than the every 12 hours many state it does. Given the F10 is a battery hog, and ours does a lot of local driving without much charge-benefitting highway driving, knowing when it's getting close to time for a long run on the highway, or a plug into the charger is nice. I've already ordered another for F10's garage mate.

Suppose you have multiple cars and only one trickle charger, or you don't want to plug your car into a trickle charger each time you park it. This tells you when you should consider putting a car on a charger, but before it's an issue. Think of it like the warning light for a low fluid (or fuel) on your car. It allows you to monitor the status, without having to check it all the time, and if it gets to a degree of "lowness" it notifies you.

50 bucks I can buy 2 or 3 separate chargers and each car will get one hooked up after driving. It takes 10 seconds to pop the hood and hook up the leads to the trickle

You can also drop a string with washers tied on the end down the fuel filler to check the fuel level every time you head out on a drive.

I don't get why you wouldn't want more instrumentation, you don't get why others would. Different strokes I guess.

Although the power draw is probably nominal, I'm guessing Bluetooth is always on for this unless you pull the fuse?

Somewhat silly design given it does not have a point to charge. Therefore if you want to attach a charge point, you need to attach another connector.

The kicker is its not always accurate so don't rely on this fully.

Its a gimmick really

btw Have a few of these so speak from experience :-)

App update:
2.0

New features:
Can dial in the amp hour rating for more accurate tracking,
In my case 95 Ah
And now shows temp and voltage.
It was 46 when I opened the trunk, so I put the 4.3 in AGM/snowflake mode

What's the consensus on charging our AGM batteries? Use the normal or snowflake mode? I just picked up a CTEK 7002 and hooked it up and have it on snowflake mode but want to make sure it's what we want it on for winter storage (3+ months and garage can get down to 35 deg at times).

The CTEK snowflake mode works with our AGM battery.
My CTEK is always on the snowflake mode..Zero problems here in the last 3 years !

I've measured the different modes.
AGM is slightly higher voltage in the startup & bulk charge mode but it's pretty much the same in stasis/float mode around 13.6v
...and then AGM pulse mode is also the same as regular mode, down to 13.2, then backs off to 12.8-12.9

Normal battery/with fluid gas above 14.4v while AGM with no fluid takes 14.7v, so yes you want to use the AGM/snowflake mode to maximize charge.
(same thing with our alternator, putting out 14.7v while a normal stays at 14.4v. Another good reason to not use normal pack in our cars as Id assume they will evaporate much quicker)

Have any of you ctek owners used the recondition mode? I just bought the mus4.3 charger today and am going to install it on a 2013 garage queen. The battery is definitely low after sitting 3 weeks. Thought I would go right to recondition mode.
