AWE Valves squeaking/ticking

So it's been about a month since I installed my non resonated AWE exhaust, at about the second week the valves started squeaking (sometimes ticking) when they open and close occasionally.

Now it's every single time I turn the car on or open/close the valves and it's starting to get very annoying. Could anybody have any idea what is causing this?

Perhaps some of the AWE guys can chime in? :

Here is a video of the sound I uploaded on YouTube. On this video they were making a ticking sound but it's very apparent every time I open and close the valves.

I had exact same noise on my AWE before. I sprayed it (WD40- spray lubricant (silicone type)) inside the valve. It's working perfectly. 😎👍

hmmm interesting, that's a good idea. You mean IN the pipe and on the actual valve, correct?

Chiming!

What you're hearing (or at least what I'm hearing in the vid) is two things:

1) The valve flap heating it's seat (clinking sound - 100% normal)
2) The electronic valve motor (100% normal)

I have a hunch the sound Mr. Terry was experiencing was different, which was remedied by lubricating the bore of the valve.

PM me or email me if you have other questions!

I seriously hope it just needs to be lubricated and isn't "normal" because having my valves squeak every time they open or close is definitely not enjoyable.

Gunna try WD-40

I hear a little bit of a very transient squeak noise in that video which sounds very familiar (normal) to me. But I think I'm also hearing more of a longer duration "beep" sound? Ya know, like when a truck backs up? Maybe I'm just hearing things? Crappy laptop speakers...

Keep me updated, please. Feel free to send me another video, too.

You're not hearing things. That's the factory valve motor doing its thing.

Hmmm honestly that video isn't how it usually sounds. Here it sounds more like a ticking, it's usually a very annoying squeak. I sprayed WD-40 this morning, hopefully it fixes it. If it continues I'll upload another video with the squeak sound

I can live with that noise as long as it doesn't rattle in the morning like the stock ones do. Do these rattle at all?

Hmmm not sure what you mean by a "rattle" but now that the squeaking noise is gone, I'm super satisfied with it. No odd noises or anything, so that might answer your question

I know exactly what you mean. Stock rattled like crazy for me on cold start. No rattle whatsoever with the AWE for over 1yr now.
