Mode Carbon GTS Front Lip Install
Hello,
Does anyone have a link to the install guide/video on how to attach the Mode Carbon GTS front lip? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Do I need to take any parts off (such as the front plastic scrape protectors), and what size bolts do I need to purchase? Thanks

Ok so install isn't too bad but applying the 3M tape isn't ideal this time of year as the automotive two sided 3M tape needs to be applied in 65 degree temp.
1. Unscrew the 18 OEM screws to get the plastic air dams off. 2. New hardware comes with the lip but they give you flat headed screws unlike the sharp pointed OEM ones. the flat heads are more difficult to put in as a result. You get 12 of these. 3. Apply the 3M tape to the lip first after cleaning both the lip and bumper with alcohol. 4. Screw in the provided flat headed screws as you hold the lip up. start with the two center ones first or the two outer ones. the lip is very light so it can just hang there on the first two screws. 5. Screw in the two OEM screws that at the corners of the front fenders that you removed earlier. There are three of these you were supposed to remove in step 1 inside each wheel well. Thats it. |

MaX PL,
Thanks for that write-up! So, does the plastic oil cooler protector need to come off in step1? Also, I don't have the screws since I bought the lip from someone else. Do you know the specs/size? I'd like to buy the right ones at the hardware store.

Their instructions dont mention removing the oil cooler protector so i didnt remove it and its fine.
I honestly think you can just reuse the OEM screws but I'd email them about it. I dont know what the provided ones' size is but theyre flat headed and roughly twice the length as the OEM ones. Again, I'd email them to ask. |

Update: I had the lip installed, and the OEM screws were used. The install process is as straight forward as it was identified in an earlier post in this thread. My biggest issue was trying do do this in my own garage. The car was too low to do this. So having the car on a lift definitely helped.
It started raining, and I couldn't take a photo outside yet. So a garage pic is all I have right now.

Nice! Thinking about going with the GTS Front Lip, but not sure how I feel about it on an F80. Please post more pics when you can.

Thank you Sam!
That's a great shot! The GTS Front Lip looks much better without the extension.

Sam,
Do you also sell the bottom piece to the Mode Carbon CF Lip? (Similar to the official orange M4 GTS Lip). I've seen a picture floating somewhere.
