Resonator delete

So I've done some research on deleting my resonator and adding an x pipe. However, the pre-constructed x-pipes are fairly expensive. My local muffler shop said they can do a custom one for $300. Anyone have any experience with a local muffler shop deleting the resonator?

Also, I've read minimal HP gains, but better sound. Can anyone confirm that it is a significant upgrade to the stock exhaust? Also, any droning issues?

I had a bad experience with my local shop buying a generic x-pipe and goober welding it in; carbon buildups and leaks everywhere. Ended up going to a custom ARK catback afterwards.

- no significant power increase (if any at all)
- the audible aesthetics were questionable at best (increased rasp, increased cold start tractor noises)

In the end I regret doing the modification.

I wouldn't do it again.
