Cutted off two small sections of vacuum lines, is it bad ?

It's maybe a noob question, but i didn't find any information about this, so here i am.

I had two "problems" in a row concerning my vacuum lines today and i would like to know if what i did will affect or hurt anything about the engine. (135i n54)

I didn't took my own pictures but i have downloaded 2 pictures to illustrate.
(hope it's ok to do so ?)

First section i cutted off :
I found out that one my diverter vavle (Forge) metallic collar w rubbing against the vacuum line and damaged it (kind of small hole) to nipple level of it. So i ended up cutting the damaged part, and replugged in. It's about 1 inch removed.

Second section :
While reinstalling the stock airbox (had BMS DCI just before), one the vacuum lines of the same diverter vavle, severely pinched against the airbox (like the nipple of the diverter valve was touching the airbox), resulting in a small damage too, so i cutted (about 1 inch too) the damaged part and ended up relocating lower the diverter valve, so the nipple won't touch the airbox anymore.

short story : i shortened about 2inch in total in the vacuum lines, is this bad or will affect my engine/performance?

(didn't notice any change while running the car)

If there are no vacuum leaks you'll be fine.

Yeah as long at the lines dont leak you're good to go

The length of the lines will have no bearing on performance, or causing issues. As said above, as long as there are no leaks and the hoses are pulled too tight to connect, you should be fine.
