Took my wife?s 228i Msport cross country in one. It works. However I HIGHLY recommend you buy some 2x4s or small wooden blocks to help you clear the ramp to get on/off and ESPECIALLY when back off the trailer. For example, a friend the week before did the same thing and ripped off the whole bottom of his bumper. At the front of the trailer is a metal cylinder that acts as a block to hold your front tire in place, however attached to it is a metal flange that will catch to your bumper when backing off the trailer if you do not have the front tires elevated going over it. It was rough.

In sum, yes it works but get some cheap 2x4s or plans from Home Depot, be careful, and take your time

I would also recommend not covering the car. I towed a car of mine once with a tarp secured across the hood half way across the country and while it did not do any permanent damage, I did have to spend some time buffing out areas where the tarp obviously had been rippling in the wind. The tarp was secured well, but the wind still causes some movement. If you are concerned with any debris from the road hitting the car, consider some other means of protection.

Remember the suspension is all aluminum and won't work as an anchor point.

Exactly would I strap it using tow hook and straps around the wheels?

I don't have experience but i'd imagine around or through the wheels would work and maybe use the tow strap hooks in the front and rear as a safety measure.

Yes can strap through wheels. Also put 2x6 wood pieces where the front wheels go near the front of the trailer. Might run the splitter into the front metal flange of the trailer otherwise.

I towed my E36 track car a bunch of times with a UHaul trailer. They actually tow pretty nice and work fine.

You might also want to post your question in the Tech Topics - Track / Autocross / Dragstrip / Driving Techniques subforum. Lots of people who track their cars also have experience towing their cars to/from the track.

you should be fine man just ask for the right u haul trailer. There is a particular one that is more accommodating to wider cars.

Yes, and maybe cross them over..? We also used microfiber towels where the straps secured to the car to protect the wheels.
