Looks like someone has invented their version of the golf tee mod.
Does your car feel boggy and low on boost? Im not on a computer at the moment but see where the end of the hose in question is in your photo, immediately to its right is another black vacuum hose which goes to your turbo wastegate control solenoid valve. Can you have a look at this area on your engine and tell me what is next to it? Is it just an uncapped nipple or is there a cap/plug on it? |

Perhaps post some more pics. Its hard to tell with this pic being upside down. A further out shot might also help of the entire engine area.

Brake booster line is much thicker. This is the exhaust flapper vacuum supply line. It shares the vac reservoir with the wastegate actuator.
The vac pump has two ports. One skinny one goes over the rocker cover to a quick release fitting clipped into the inbuilt vac reservoir in the rocker cover. The brake booster circuit has its own direct connection to the booster via a check valve |

Exhaust flap vacuum hose. Runs from a port on the valve cover, runs over to the driver's side of the engine bay.
